2004. Surprising finalist in recent Shiraz roundup. Eucalyptus and mint at the start gives way to candied black fruits. Showing its age a little - looked and tasted older than 2002 and 2001 vintages in the tasting. Still, a strong funky finalist. A lot of sediment. — 9 years ago
Cedar, black olive tapenade, plum, spice, herbs/lavender and chalk on the nose. Med tannin, vanilla, olive, pretty herbs, menthol/eucalyptus and tar on the palate, with a bit of sawdust on the finish. Young, I know, but still fun. — 10 years ago
Went to a wine shop in UES, NYC looking for something to go with takeout Pizza. Saw this lone soldier on the shelf. I can never resist any wine made by Katy Wilson. Pizza, even NY Pizza, never tasted so good. The wine was superb! — 11 years ago

Nice tannic structure. Bit of a sprinter. Nose fell off sharply after opening. Acidity paired nicely with soldier beans in a strongly flavored sauce. Less pleasant after but still decent. $22. — 9 years ago
