Just stunning. Chappellet can do no wrong in our book. Tuck this away for a few years. We anticipate that this will “bulk up” over time. Suave tannins support subtle acid. On the palate, neutral oak treatment, with espresso notes and jet black fruits, front and center. Finishes plush and expansive. — 8 years ago

I thought this was extremely tasty...big oak with vanilla/cream...ripe fruit, med acid, med tannins. Excellent drinker for price. Fun wine..must try — 9 years ago

Simply delicious! Tons of mineral and acid. Wish I knew these wines earlier. Perfect with a meal at Bibou. — 10 years ago
I was intrigued by the label! Very pleasantly surprised! Richer than expected - juicy and velvety smooth with a nice dryness. — 12 years ago
Part 1 of the final and main event for the Fall WNH. The most spectacular lineup of wines I’ve ever seen, and an overall wonderful ending to an amazing trip with fantastic people.
A baby, but already strutting its power. This is no doubt a modern take on Bordeaux with more rich/sweet black and blue fruit than others, but it reigns in before it gets too Nap-esque as the fruit is more underripe. Mid palate and finish show dark chocolate, bay leaf and a touch of leather. Because of the style, not too adverse to opening now with a 2-3hr decant, but this will improve for many years. Bravo, @Mike R . — 8 years ago
Gave this a few more months since my first 2012, about the same. Go with the 13 if you can find it. But the 13 is a 💯 pointer so its double the price, so you get what you pay for.
15.5 abv half the fruit sourced from Atlas peak, then various vineyards around napa, primarily stags according to Parker, — 9 years ago

@David T actually 5 months,Not a lot to say that isn't always said about this. Very well balanced. No heat or acidity and ends with mild fruit - cherry on the front with leather and light spices. Exceptional quality — 9 years ago
I love this wine! It is always so balanced. Extremely smooth with very little tannins showing, being so young. A wine that never disappoints no matter the vintage. — 10 years ago
Yellow to almost green-yellow in color, good clarity. Grass, floral, and honey crisp apple on the nose, apricot and slightly mineral on the palate with crisp acidity. — 10 years ago
Amazing how a 56 year old can be in such great shape with no sign of age. Jealous. — 10 years ago
Pretty deep garnet core , showing a little age as expected , the rim is quite thin and with a light garnet hue. Impressive aromatic nose straight from opening , leather , grafite , creme de cassis, truffle. Very masculine and aristocratic! Still holding a lot back and developing in the glass. In the mouth , quite dry and grippy tannins , the fruit is sweeter , very long on the palate nicely balanced acidity . Blackcurrant , coffee , mineral , creme de cassis . A very big wine , drinkable now though will no doubt improve over many years . Barely changed a day later after a night in the vacuvin . More spicy tobacco and soy showing , still marvelous length, showing there is still so much to give. — 8 years ago
One of my favorite Syrah from Washington State. Walla Walla. Deep ruby red with a wonderful nose. Silky and burst of black fruit somewhat dry. Had it at Zinc in San Antonio. — 8 years ago
pineapple! creamy and still bright. surprised this has no-malolactic fermentation. paired well with king crab legs. 2006 vintage on 3/11/17 — 9 years ago

This was incredible. Super smooth. Great finish. Perfect with sharp cheeses. — 10 years ago
Blind. Whole table guessed Cayuse. No surprise but close. This was really funky and yummy. Fun to drink. Better with food than as a sipper. I really liked it. Probably couldn't drink it all the time but a nice change of pace. Very intellectual flavor profile. — 10 years ago
I'm going to come clean, I'm not a huge Caymus fan. It's by no means a bad wine - far from it - but I've always felt they blend their Cab with too much Zin. I could be wrong on that account, but I don't think I am. Still, a nice brooding nose of dark red and blue fruit, with a touch of candied fruit and wet earth. — 11 years ago

This 2007 had years of life in it, but was delightful, complete palette. Glad we popped it, perfect paring with Sunday’s final meal. — 7 years ago
