So dark and rich, wouldn't you make the switch?
Impressively, almost uncharacteristically, dark for PN. Nose is all dense, crunchy red fruits, cinnamon, with a whiff of ozone/pool chlorine/dusty mineral. Frankly carnal in texture; fleshy and dense, with tannins so smooth that they belie new world origin.
Could be spectacular (almost auto-corrected to spextacular!) with the right food, though this could pass for Syrah.

This wine was a knockout! Full bodied, great nose and fruit and an earthy feel. Best Carignane I’ve had. It doesn’t hurt that it’s from a historic old vine block at Lytton Springs. — 7 years ago

Here’s your classic everyday catch-all Montilla PX. Sea salt, green olives, Marcona almonds, crunchy stone fruit. Striking mineral and chalk aromas at the top. Will certainly hold its own with any young fino from the Triangle. — 8 years ago

Honey and waxy, almost diesel notes. Some hard to pinpoint florals... maybe dried roses. On day two, pure butterscotch nose, more pronounced saline quality. Palate is acid, texture, and just a hint of rs in a perfect equilateral triangle. — 6 years ago
