Very berry on the palate but not jammy.

Beautiful ruby color with an out of this world nose of red and black fruits. Plums, mint, blackberries, and a pretty floral element going on. Full bodied, dense, and rich, you can stand a fork in it. The nose translates to the palate with immense fruit. Strawberries and cherries abound, with more plums and some vegetation. Huge tannins and tons of power. Mami generously brought a 75cl bottle of this god nectar to wash down the cheeses 🧀 I died & went to heaven when I had this with blue Stilton cheese 😍

I think I had more than my fair share of this silky sweet seductive love juice 😎

2000 vintage. From Jay. 2000 Bartolo Mascarello - Brief Note from Galloni Historical Retrospective Held in London April 26, 2016. Black fruits, Black cherry with some menthol. Good sweetness on the entry. Good acidity. Weak on the rear pallet. Finish is somewhat weak. Nice ruby colour. More in the style of what Maria Teresa's father than her. Fruit is much more muted. It has integrated well over the years from the initial barnyard aromatics that it displayed when initially bottled. Drink no to 2020. 89/100 — 10 years ago
