Sometimes no other wine will do for me than old-style (13% ABV) Bordeaux, and this lovely medium-aged Pauillac absolutely fills the bill, redfruits, structured but not really tannic, great acid balance really lifts the fruit, not a blockbuster, but very fine nonetheless, I could drink a lot of this!! — a year ago
Another delicious and super approachable 100% mourvedre from Ryan Pease of Paix sur Terre. For those who don’t know, Ryan has a friend who does all of the original artwork for these labels. Great operation there - do yourself a favor and check them out! — 4 years ago
Clear blackberry, cherry, and other dark fruit notes. — 5 years ago
[from 750] drinking very well right now (2018). Indescribable? Taste from some other axis of space-time-sense? Custard, melon, pineapple, diesel, bandaid, orange spice. . . — 7 years ago
Dry but balanced, really good. $14.24 from golden eagle — 7 years ago
Our other Thanksgiving wine. A bit dried out, but a lovely bouquet. Good cork. Of the recent Leovilles, I prefer the 78 Barton, and next the 81 Las Cases. This comes in third, but not shabby at all! — 7 years ago
An excellent, smooth wine with floral notes. A little less powerful than other vintages I have tried from Lynch-Bages. Cassis, blackberries, blueberries, milk chocolate, a hint of vanilla, and mushrooms. — 7 months ago
Way too young. Still pretty tough after a 5-6 he decant. There’s is a lot of structure here and the dark roasted fruit plays well with the other aromas / flavors like charcoal, pencil lead, and soil. Not my go-to style of wine, but decent with prime rib. — 3 years ago
Agree with those who describe the finesse in this reserve. Long open but worth the wait every time. apparently higher in sangiovese than other vintages and it works just fine. Really nice Antinori offering! — 4 years ago

This wine has a very nice fruity body with a bit of a dry finish. Currants come to mind. This is a wine best paired with a mind ready to transcend beyond this temporal realm, through the veil, and into the Void of Distortion! This wine is the palatable equivalent of a saw wave oscillating through the plenum cabling and into your grey matter. One day we will all be consumed by the cubular harbingers. But until that day consider Lodi’s plunger-head wine. On a Tuesday evening it is quite nice. — 6 years ago
Great of course but not as incredible as some of the other vintages of Dominus I've had. Had the silky-ness but was missing some of the layers of flavor complexity imho — 8 years ago
My first impressions of the 2020 Pégau “Cuvée Reservée”. I brought this bottle to Tasting Group and presented it double-blind to the crew, for science! The wine pours a deep ruby with a translucent core. Moderate staining of the tears; high viscosity. On the nose: the wine is moderate intensity; developing. Ripe cherry and bramble fruits with some strawberry, anise, exotic spices, garrigue, and lavender. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium+ tannin and medium+ acid and medium+ alcohol. The tannins are super grippy. The finish is long, herby and there is a streak of black pepper. Whoa…this is a gorgeously expressive wine! Some felt it was 1er cru Burg. Other thought something form Italy: Brunello or CCR. Only one, the only Advanced Somm in the group, called CdP, but he called 2016. Having had many 2016’s recently, I can see where he was coming from. But make no mistake, this will age well despite it’s current approachability. Drink now to enjoy its youth before it potentially (likely) shuts down. Otherwise, this will drink well for 10-15+ years. — 2 years ago
Hot damn! A beautiful, graceful monster of a wine. Nose of dried blueberries, tobacco and flowers. Big black fruit, Sweet red plums, licorice, and freshly tanned leather all hit you at once with an intensity only attributable to some of the best in the game. Lingering finish of dark red fruit and maybe some kind of citrus? Extremely fine tannins and really nice acidity danced harmoniously with each other. Great with a prime NY Strip. While never my first choice, it is always such a treat to enjoy a bottle of Opus! — 5 years ago

Delicious, and a bit on the feminine side with less richness and body as in other editions, which I thought was interesting given the composition. Crowd favorite. — 6 years ago
Not much to say about this benchmark bojo that hasn’t already been said, other than this vintage is a bit darker, denser and less open than others. It’s very enjoyable now with its supple texture, plentiful acid, sweet blackberry, dark cherry, campfire and dank earth flavors. But will hold the rest of these 2-3 more years as it has the potential to be special. — 7 years ago

Really solid, moderately priced pinot. Delightfully light, reminds me of a carneros pinot, nice with a little chill and any summer food you can think of. — 7 months ago
