Very secondary but still retaining loads of sweet fruit. Plums, figs, chocolate, coffee, cherry compote and leather are bursting forth right now. Double-decanted and tasted with Marc Hochar in Napa. — 6 years ago
From the wine list at EMP bought by a new friend at the table next to us to go mano a mano against the 88 La Turque I shared. Slightly darker red and more pure in color. Amazing aroma that is more linear than the animalistic La La but in the same league. Hit its stride right out of the pop and pour gate. Lovely perfume with a more briary nose but speaks Cote Rotie from the get go. Perfectly integrated fruit and structure. Best Jamet I've had. Thanks to Danny for this treat. — 7 years ago
Pinotage. 2013. Great. Great value. — 9 years ago
I know this wine is far to young but when the right people are present you can make the best decisions. — 10 years ago
Dry but balanced, really good. $14.24 from golden eagle — 6 years ago
Smooth with some deep fruity notes — 7 years ago
Big wine with tropical fruit. Coconut dominates. Finish is not too long...but just right. — 9 years ago
Deep black color with brickish rim. Aromas is dried herbs and spices are layered with smoky tobacco and cigar box. Dried cherry and currant notes join in on the palate yet the overall profile is of cinnamon, anise and other dried spices which echo on the long finish. — 10 years ago
Stony creek. Blacksmiths like. ESP Anna. — 10 years ago
Fortunate enough to have tasted this along with 6 other stunning wines last night during a cellar tasting. This 36 year old 2nd growth was nearly perfect, unusual but very pleasant mint, camphor, crushed sage and rosemary aromas with the same cooling delicate herbal initial palate. Dried but expressive red fruits mid- palate with a great structural graphite element throughout. Whiff of new leather. Changed in the glass showing different mellow facets. Pretty much intercepted at the exact right time. A real privilege to taste such a renowned vintage with folks who appreciates what was in front of them. — 5 years ago
Drank this over the course of 6 days using Coravin...still too young, but the wine really opened up by the last day. Smells and tastes like a Grand Bordeaux St. Julien wine as it should. I used to this wine to test the Coravin. It is clear that oxidation starts right after the first pour. — 8 years ago
Conterno showed better tonight. As expected, too much oak presence right now, but showing sweet and pleasant fruit. — 9 years ago
What is all this talk about bad years? Shone like a star, outplacing four other late-60s first growth Bordeaux. — 9 years ago
For 12 bucks, this is an awesome value wine. Solid and fruity, but also versatile enough to drink with just about anything you can dish up (or even by itself). — 10 years ago
Bright, subtle fruity sweetness, hints of plum and boysenberry? — 11 years ago

2014. Just really good. May have aged a little longer, but definitely drinkable right now. — 4 years ago
