Last bottle, had a bottle about a year ago, aged nicely. Their vineyard is a few miles away from the Pacific Ocean and aged, in French Oak, about 1/3 new, deep ruby with black fruit aromas and earthy floral spice notes. On the palate, soft raspberry, black cherry and blueberry flavors, rich and complex with integrated spice and oak. Smooth tannins with good balance of juicy acidity still has room to age. Lingering mineral finish, an outstanding wine. A real pleasure, wish I had more! — 6 years ago
An absolute dream. It smells like it wants to go to a campfire. — 6 years ago
Steely, austere, super mineral (deep ocean crushed shells). Grippy, beautiful texture and laser focused acid. Incredible long length! — 8 years ago
Atlantic Ocean, lite...Notes tomorrow?
192H Update:
Nose has fully saturated oak plank, moist almonds, incredible sweet & saline notes, fermenting green apples, white chocolate bar, white candle wax and fresh yellow apple slice. Palate has almond broth (does that exist?), dried yellow apple, chamomile tea, moist bread, faint green olive (?) with mild saline finish, faint acidity. Damn I do not drink enough Manzanilla! — 3 years ago
Tasted double-blind. The 2018 Lucien Crochet pours a very pale straw color. On the nose, almost imperceptible pyrazines. Instead, the smell of an ocean breeze with a touch of cheesy funk that I find rather attractive. On the palate, there is an undeniable freshness to this wine that is really compelling. Citrus fruits with white pepper. Medium-plus acid. Satisfying finish. Very good! — 4 years ago
Besides its acidity, this Sardinian wine is an especially good pair with seafood because it carries the smell of the ocean. Salinity bursts forth with citrus in tow, both on the nose and the palate. It’s a savory wine with loads of character, and it’s a Vermentino from Sardegna. That’s really all you need to know.

I’m lost in the majestic waves of the Albariño. An enthusiastic aroma of ocean air. Flowery Citrus on the front. Slight sourness on the edges as well and it’s pleasant. Maybe sour peaches. And the a crisp finish 👌🏼 — 6 years ago
Just fine — 6 years ago
This Rías Baixas Albariño is pale yellow in the glass. The nose is like a bouquet of flowers, with some elegant citrus notes to hold them together. Lemon, lime and orange are all here for the smelling. The palate sings of citrus and apples and has an acidity that is zippy enough for oysters. The finish has a wonderful salinity which puts me in mind of the ocean. — 4 years ago
@maydan and it had a sour beer taste to it. — 5 years ago
My last bottle! From a hillside vineyard on an eastern slope on the second ridge from the Pacific Ocean. Deep Ruby with subtle aromas of red fruits and peppery spices, aging softened the aromas a bit. The palate shows raspberry and cherry with flavorful spices. Vivid acidity with super soft tannins with an earthy feel. Lingering finish with ripe oaky notes, minerality and earthy tones. Aged well, drink now! Very nice! — 6 years ago
Slightly buttery. Silky finish. — 6 years ago
Doctor dinner at Mastro’s Ocean Club in AZ. Fantastic wine with steaks. — 7 years ago
Very funky, at first apples but then all of these saline ocean notes, like eating periwinkles and so much more — 8 years ago

Nose shows greenness/stems, smoke, strawberries. Lightly crunchy, medium+ acid; some ocean spray cranberry juice here. Texture is where this shines with a rich creaminess that ends with medium+ acid. Great food wine. — 3 years ago
