This is the DSP Montecito chard from Chris King's Santa Barbara project. Whole-cluster fermented and unfiltered. Beautifully aromatic with bright acidity. This could easily be from burgundy. — 10 years ago

Excellent with red meat. We loved it — 7 years ago
This wine satisfied all the tastes and FL smoothness but an acidic tart finish... not a fan. — 7 years ago
First time with this one. Impressive for a 6 y/o wine with tons of flavour and very soft and balanced. Enjoyed. Wish I knew Barolos better as I could be more accurate with my review/comparisons. — 8 years ago
Plenty of "gooseberry" grapefruit and green apple. Banging with acidity, seafood friendly. — 9 years ago
We had great expectations for this wine. Sadly, those expectations were not realized.
On the nose, we detected iron, tart cherries and redcurrants.
On the palette, it lacks the typical opulence we have come to expect from this producer. No plush, velvety texture. Mild root vegetables and burnt oak comes to mind. We are of the view that these grapes did not reach full maturity. Good acid structure, but the wine lacks cohesion. A good example, but not great.
We paid a king's ransom for this and Plumpjack still have our hostage. sniff... — 10 years ago

Great Chardonnay for the price. — 7 years ago
Smoky medium@body with medium acid. tannins are medium, light enough for Thai food but also robust enough for a skirt steak. Not bad for $30 — 8 years ago
Deep, dark, full. Better as it has aged — 8 years ago

OMG... Sorry it's my first time...
Visually, this presents as a few years older with a pink to red brick rim. On the nose, the open releases red cherry... With time it mellows to black cherry... If you could elegantly bottle Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia it would start you on the path of creating this wine. The blanket of milk chocolate is like a King's robe. There is a vague hint of baking spices up front. Custardy throughout. Tannins are on on-guard and alert waiting ready, willing, and able to withstand the darkness of the caverns until brighter days. Probably my favorite bottle to date.
