On a quest to find the perfect wine to pair with Pho, I picked up this lively Lambrusco from Kermit Lynch...two years ago. I found it while moving around bottles, happily, though the jury is still out as to the pairing. My beef bone broth is still reducing as I type this. As to the wine, it's ruby-hued, slightly cloudy and appropriately spritzy. Plums and figs conjoin earth and decaying rose petal. There's plenty of tannic bite, with firm structure and a pleasant herbaceous leesy, if brief, finish. — 8 years ago
Delicious. 2011 bad year ,? Not from this jury of my peers. ! Red bell pepper, black cherry, and dried herbs with a touch of jalapeno. Tannins linger with a nice dark deep red color. Nose of dark fruits. Here's to you Palmer@Palmer Emmitt — 9 years ago

Jury duty. Lunch break — 9 years ago
thinking this was the 2014 reserve release.... it's unico and me likey unico. jury still out for me on whether or not the blending to achieve the house style is the way to go. had some lesser vintages that reservations beat but also some killer single vintages that smoke the reserva. all about the dirt and those great vintages are the ones that have it. — 10 years ago
brutal ? jury is out.
delicious ? for. sure. — 7 years ago

Light straw gold color. Nice weight in the glass. Citrus nose with notes of honeydew, spice and some gravel stone. Surprisingly fat and rich in the mouth. Ok finish. Lacking the strong acidity spine I was expecting. Not sure what to make of this.... will it get better with more age, is it in an awkward phase, will it improve with more air... the jury is out. — 8 years ago

Fair to say the jury is still out on whether Shiraz works in the northern part of Margaret River but this is very good. Plummy with a hint of butterscotch (oak) and touch of black pepper. Medium bodied - fleshy with softening tannins. Short term cellaring. Very satisfying. — 9 years ago
Very nice but have recently returned to white. So the jury is still out. — 10 years ago
Pretty fancy and jury is out. Initial nose like burnt rubber, but after an hour mellowed into deliciousness. Guests have now left and have half a bottle left + good cheese - result!!!
Finished it - bloody lovely — 7 years ago
Delicious break from jury duty. Delicious. — 8 years ago
Wound up but showing tropical fruits in the nose. Advanced color, but has some nice material. Gun metal nose after several hours. Jury is still out. — 8 years ago
The Big Boys Grenache!!
Deep and dark.
$80 though? Jury is out. — 9 years ago
The jury is out as of now for this wine. My current tasting of this private label, Caymus produced Cab, shows aromas of ripe dark fruit and herb notes. On the palate, cherry, blackberry and sweet currant flavors with hints of cacao and earthy bramble tones. Fully developed tannins on the smooth finish. Caymus wines are noted for being approachable while young, but will 1858 stand up with some time? May be a little pricy at $50. I will check back with 1858 in a few years. Doesn't get better than this. Not like any Chardonnay you've ever had. — 10 years ago

Out of Magnum. Wanted to see what was aging better, 2016 Burgundy or my son that just turned 2. Jury still out! This was however, very good. For a young burg from a producer than requires age, it had a delicate side that expressed itself well with amazing density and structure. A real good start to a long life ahead. Glad I have more mags. — 7 years ago
