Another one from last night’s birthday dinner. I had a little left to revisit on day 2 and it is still amazing. What a classic. I could sit with this for a long time. The smokey, deep dark fruit/licorice, and velvety mouthfeel, all make this wine shine. This one will definitely improve with more age. Easily one of the top 5 wines of the year for me. — 3 years ago

Global Champagne Day 2018...Why not?
@Casey @ Travelling Corkscrew I'm not going to sabre this one, maybe another time. Nice post/feature today.
Seemed excessively frizzante when we opened the bottle, more mellow after an hour, quite nice. Lightly brioche, the Chardonnay is more prominent tonight. Light caramel on under-ripe peach, delish. At hour two, lightly saline, red fruit arrives, the terroir is making an appearance. — 7 years ago
Nice and earthy Pinot! Aromas and flavors of strawberry are dominant, with a bit of forest floor and mushroom — 8 months ago
Krug is always most welcome, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. This is edition 169. A bit more yeasty and slightly less acidic than previous versions, to my taste. But if you like the Krug style - which we do very much - it hits the spot per usual.
My wife used to work with Fritz Hatton, proprietor of Arietta wines and auctioneer for Zachys. Fritz always says to have a half bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge in case you need a “midnight snack”, and I have to agree with him! — 5 years ago
63/25/12 blend of Vermentino, Muscat and Malavasia Bianca, and yes, pet-nat. Still Applegate Valley AVA but no vineyard designation on this one. Pale yellow white, good foam on pour but light carbonation, bubbles disappear relatively quickly. Slight sulfite in nose, but not much else. In the mouth, creamy, slightly bubbly, lemon-lime flavor with a touch of Muscat, followed by a tangy largely lemon-lime finish. Easy to love, especially on a warm day. Fun and sure to prove popular. Not a wine to overthink, just drink... — 6 years ago
Very good day 2 — 7 years ago
Showing some age, which is the highest compliment. Dried apricot, dried apple, day-old dried-out honey, buttered crouton, funky yeast, subtle acidity. Slightest white pepper. Complex beyond words. Domestic sparkling for the ages. — 8 years ago
Finally got to drink one of the famous #morgon producers. Sappy red fruit, touch of enticing funk, purple floral notes and some sous bois aromas. Lushly textured on palate, iron, lofty acidity. Sure it’s a bit young but had to seize the day on this occasion. #foillardftw — 10 months ago
Château Musar Bekaa Valley Rouge 2000: Medium-bodied. Medium acidity. Elegant structure & balance with silky, integrated tannins. Bordeaux nose with evolving layers from dark to red fruits. Dried herbs. Spice. Tobacco. Earth. Long smooth finish. All in all, this wine was drinking perfectly. Hitting all the right notes even at the 22 year mark. It doesn’t get much better than this delicious, exotic beauty. What an amazing & memorable vintage & wine! Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
Always a go to with seafood and for a nice summer day. — 5 years ago
Third time I’ve had this, each time I’m almost staggered by the nose. Floral and light red and blue fruits pour out of the glass. This is an old world nod being a 85/15 blend of Syrah and Viognier, and although it hints towards brooding it remains delicate and vibrant on the palate. Really pretty wine. Everything from Day I have had has been great. — 7 years ago

Notes of leather and dark fruits on the nose, very smooth on the palette. A lovely cab I can drink all day long. — 8 months ago
