All Things Go Robert Clay Red Blend 2018

Regan Meador somehow quiets shouting grapes to a whisper. All Good Things is...all good things - a blend of Texas Tempranillo, Merlot, and Ruby Cabernet at about 11% - how he gets to these levels I have no idea. This is stemmy and light, brambly and harmonic. And you can taste the individual contributions - spiced cedar (Tempranillo), blackberry and raspberry jam (Merlot), and red currant cinnamon (Ruby Cab). — 4 years ago

Call of the Brave Sangiovese Cabernet Franc 2021

I keep coming back to this one. Had it with a spicy chicken and broccoli stir-fry while listening to a live recording of Radu Lupu playing a Bach prelude & fugue (BWV 867). Each made the others more enjoyable. — 3 months ago

Bingham Family Vineyards Trebbiano 2019

This is a very pale Texas wine with a very citric nose. Lemon leads the way, but there is lime and orange peel in play, too. A hint of lemon chess pie floats through the minerality along with an herbal note. The palate shows apricot and nectarine flavors filtering through the spicy greenness of the herbaceous essence of the wine. The acidity is zippy, but not overly so. Pairing this with a cool, green salad this summer is a no-brainer. — 2 years ago

Don't Forget to Soar White Blend

Pale straw/gold, with crustals on the cork; tart apple (not surprising given the crystals) and baking spice in the nose; full, silky mouthfeel with sour apple predominating; decent finish given this is a ‘22 being drunk in April ‘24, lingering puckery tart notes. Had with pasta and homemade marinara, the body and tartness stood up well. — 3 months ago
