Call of the Brave Sangiovese Cabernet Franc 2021

The 2021 vintage is 58% aglianico and 42% sangiovese, from Hill Country. 13.6 ABV. Dark garnet, spice, black pepper, and black cherry on the nose. Prominent spice, pepper, tart stone fruit, medium body; dusty tannins, a bit short on the finish, as you’d expect from a young wine. This bottle went well with a complex, spicy pizza. — 20 days ago

Bingham Family Vineyards Trebbiano 2019

This is a very pale Texas wine with a very citric nose. Lemon leads the way, but there is lime and orange peel in play, too. A hint of lemon chess pie floats through the minerality along with an herbal note. The palate shows apricot and nectarine flavors filtering through the spicy greenness of the herbaceous essence of the wine. The acidity is zippy, but not overly so. Pairing this with a cool, green salad this summer is a no-brainer. — 6 months ago

Last Call For Regrets Pétillant Naturel Robert Clay Vineyards Touriga Nacional Rosé 2020

Vibrant coral hue. Bright but restrained nose of strawberry, watermelon, guava, white gummy bear, hibiscus, and red Jello. Very dry on the palate, with tart acidity and notes of crunchy unripe red fruits, lively petillance, and a long, mouth-watering finish. A super-refreshing yet serious pét- — 4 months ago

Progression Red Blend

This is Dutchman's Progression 3. This is a dark wine, with a nose to match. Blackberry, black plum, black pepper, leather - it is a fairly brawny aroma package. The palate follows suit, with dark fruit and a savory angle to beat all savory angles. Tannins are quite firm and the wine could probably benefit from an hour or two to breathe. The finish is lengthy and savory. — 6 months ago
