Really loved this rose. Nice minerality balancing acidity — 2 years ago
Light salmon color with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and citrus notes. On the palate flavors of peach and strawberry with lemon citrus, floral and herb notes. Medium dry finish, soft tannins ending with fruit and herb mineral notes. Drink now while it’s fresh. — 2 years ago
Tasty Pinot Grigio. Crisp and refreshing. — 3 years ago
Very nice, thanks Gary.... — 3 years ago
This is not a blend, but 100% Casavecchia. Upon opening, the volcanic smokiness is immediately fragrant, and slightly perfumed. Dark berries, tannins, and minerals woven together. Delicious winter red!🍷 Also 👍 the very graphic designy label ...
Had the rest of the bottle with broiled salmon, cashew olive vinaigrette, wild mushrooms and polenta. It became veeeery mellow on day 2. Even better! — 4 years ago
I met up with a few friends at Buvette to celebrate a 39th birthday over lunch. As customary, I asked if they would like me to pick out the wine and they gave me the green light. I scampered off to the wall of Italian wines and saw this bottle of Marc de Grazia’s, Tenuta Delle Terre Nere from the elusive “Moganazzi” contrada which sits just below Guardiola, at about 700m elevation. Until recently, his production of Moganazzi was exclusive to a charity release only. However, he was able to purchase another parcel and now Moganazzi gets a broader release. However, “broader” is only relative as we’re still only talking about 3000 bottles produced.
Popped and poured and enjoyed over lunch with a few friends on a beautiful spring afternoon at Buvette. No formal notes due to the setting. The 2019 “Moganazzi” pours a bright ruby color with transparent core. It’s actually quite something to behold as it dazzles in the sunlight with each swirl. The nose is expressive, redolent of fresh ripe red fruits (cherries and strawberries), pink flowers, crushed rocky earth and a kiss of spices. The structure is quite firm but in the medium range. In fact, I would place this as medium across the board. A wine of great balance and versatility; particularly with food. On this occasion, it was a smashing pairing with mushroom risotto and braised oxtail. Drink now or enjoy through 2034. — a year ago
The best limoncello. — 2 years ago
Delightful and light. Not too sweet. — 4 years ago
#Italianwine 🍇. Blend change. Two of my fav grapes. Sangiovese and Merlot grapes make a magnificent blend. Full body, elegant and earthy fragrance., dry finish, perfect balance. So elegant! We met Luca, the winemaker. He explained his production and region. Was excited. Interesting. @pignettis — 5 years ago

Great late day lunch selection — 2 years ago
Tasted semi-blind and wrote down the same thing I did for the 2018: it smells like church! I’m trying to figure out why I wrote it, but the minerality is similar to what you smell when you enter an old white marble church. Maybe some of the florals too?

Tuscany in a bottle! No, literally. It’s from Tuscany. But anyhews, lots of fun grapes in here after the predominant Sangiovese. Earthy and floral! — 9 months ago
