Got my first shot of the Biontech/Pfizer vaccine today, time to celebrate. After recently trying the surprisingly good 2007 I have turned to the 2008. JS rated this 100 points and others have it 98+. For me it’s not quite there yet, but it might get there in a few more years or who knows in a few hours after this gets more air. This is such a typical Comtes, such an unmistakable character that lets the Chardonnay shine. The balance of citrus and fruit flavors is amazing and lingers in the mouth forever. Definitely one of the greatest years for the Comtes, perhaps indeed the best yet. I look forward to storing the remaining bottles for a few more years. — 4 years ago

Got to pop some special bottles when my good friend Shawn came in to town!
I was ecstatic to open this and it ended up being one of the most spectacular champagnes I’ve had in recent memory, and possibly one of the most spectacular champagnes I’ve ever had. This single vineyard Blanc de noir from EO spent 6 years (!) on the less and was disgorged July 2018. Gorgeous golden straw color in the glass with minuscule bubbles. A totally dizzying aromatic display of ginger shavings, toffee, caramel dipped golden delicious apples, red berries, orange honey roasted cashews and some beautifully oxidized notes. Rich without being dense, a gorgeous palate profile of hazelnuts, lemon cream, brioche, chalky limestone and a finish that just doesn’t want to stop. This is a marriage of Krug & Taittinger Comtes. Stunning! — 5 years ago
Incredible. So light. But if lemon almost, but not tart — 5 months ago
rich and delicious, with yeasty flavors of raspberries, strawberries, vanilla, toast and honey — 8 months ago
Celebrating the Brisbane Lions winning the AFL Grand Final in Melbourne on Saturday afternoon over the Sydney Swans. This champagne was mid yellow in colour with a fine mousse. A fruit driven palate with citrus and peach. I don’t drink a lot of Champagne but this was a real crowd pleaser. Full flavoured with 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir. — 10 months ago
One small ice cube to get you there;)
This is a family favorite and a bottle from our Napa 2015 trip. — 5 years ago
Small fine bubbles with yeast, lemon, almond, and a touch of tropical fruit. Fresh and light. — 3 months ago

Very elegant and round. Notes of raspberry and rhubarb. — 4 years ago
Consumed 05/2020. It is 100% Pinot Noir. I did not know that was the grapes used to make this. Blanc de Noir translates to white wine from black grapes. Elegant, complex, round and toasty. It’s very refreshing. — 5 years ago

Beautiful depth and density to the fruit. Much more finesse than the Brut, and texturally quite close to the Comte de Champagne, but the pinot adds heft. At cellar door in Reims. — 3 months ago
