Sizzling with bright lemon acidity and a slatey minerality. This has gorgeous depth and texture with a vibrant spine of balancing acidity.ripe but very in place- really good right now...

Happy Thanksgiving! Several bottles of the 2002 Comtes have been fabulous. Moreover, the 2002 appears to be aging very gracefully, which is great to see given how ripe the Chardonnays were in 2002. This is a special bottle....

Think Corton Charlemagne with very tiny, very persistent bubbles. Very young, and very different than my last bottle. Fresh figs, tiny wild strawberries, lemon curd and warm brioche...an absolute weightless delight that keeps exhibiting new facets as it sits in the glass. Five great bottles of champagne, five pounds of Alaskan king crab legs, two pounds of ripe Delice de Bourgogne, and ten good friends!!! Happy New Year doesn’t quite do it justice!
