On the nose, chestnuts, warm black plums, blackberries stewed blue fruits, violets and pepper. The palate, stewed, black plums, plums, blackberries, stewed strawberries, dark cherries, slight tarry quality, roasted chestnuts, pepper, black cherry cola, the core flavor of anise, herbs, dry stems, underbrush, violets, dry dark florals, roasted expresso, dry brown crushed rocks, the acidity drips over the palate, still a little tension, the structure starting to yield, the balance of fruit and earth nearly 50-50. The finish has nice ripe fruit but gives way to slightly dry tannins. Give it another 3-5 years. Should have had a Shiraz given where we are but at the price on the menu, too hard to resist. "The Cut" a good spot for dinner in Sydney. — 8 years ago

Great find of CA Pinot in Ann Arbor! Killer juice — 9 years ago
Not really into Shiraz but while in Sydney, just had to try one of the higher rates Shiraz's we all read about! dark, peppery with spices. — 10 years ago
A small winery in the Carneros region of Napa managed by Tony and Jo Ann Truchard successfully growing grapes for over 40 years. Complex aromas of red fruit, floral, citrus and earthy tones. On the palate strawberry and cherry with orange citrus, green tea, and sweet spice. Soft tannins on long finish ending with delicate spice and mineral notes. Nice. — 8 years ago

Delicious. Sitting in Sydney at Uccello. Last night here. Great times! — 9 years ago
Holy smokes. This is the best of Australian Barossa valley wine. This Shiraz was gifted to me 13 years ago by a good friend, Ron Candy - a gentleman of gentleman. A true Ozzie with a heart of gold. It was on this date too, while I was living in Sydney, 13 years ago that I lost my friend, my golf buddy, my business partner and father-in-law Herb Schimeneck to the wicked complications and consequences of cancer. If you’re drinking tonight, and so moved, raise a glass to Ron, and especially to Herb - two great men that helped me became a better version of myself than I could have imagined or hoped for. Cheers to you all.....my friends today and of tomorrow. — 7 years ago
1994 vintage. On a sailing boat in Sydney Harbour not with the proper glassware. On the nose, fresh black fruits, gentle spices and leather notes. More savoury than sweet. Not obviously a 20+ year old wine. On the palate, mild alcohol and body, good concentration of flavours and soft but noticeable tannins. Elegance with a touch of umph. Very Hill of Grace. The finish was good, but not quite as long as some other vintages I have recently had. This wine was certainly not fully mature. Could age for another 15 years I suspect. Very good. — 8 years ago
Beautiful acidity. Gets better and better. Nice job Katey! 13% — 9 years ago
I love all Tuesner reds. This one is modestly priced but a delight to imbibe. I had a Tuesner Bilmore on a Qantas flight from London to Sydney two weeks ago, and it was sublime. — 9 years ago
