There are these moments in recorded music where something gets reissued today from like the 70s or 80s on a crisp new vinyl press. Nobody's seen the original because it's so damn rare. And the recording just fucking bumps so hard and the soul of the music is so deep, from the ages when synths and sample banks were too far off to care about. Ya, this. This is the one. Don't be afraid to drink this today. You will be rewarded with soul. It will be difficult to return to trap hats and people with no talent feeding you meaningless poetic dribble. And my apologies to Amass, we put you up against this. Unfortunately this wine won in the end by a long shot and the 30 chefs in your kitchen were all slain by 3 generations of farmers working side by side. — 9 years ago
This is the best Sauternes I've tasted. Complex, self-assured, and detailed nose of saffron (botrytis), orange peel, marzipan, candied grapefruit (thiols), slight yeasty baguette (lees), and ever-so-slight balsamic vinegar tingle (VA) that brightens the aromas. Dense but simultaneously light on its feet due to intense acidity. Slight tannic grip and a hint of creme brûlée bitterness (possibly from oak). The finish does not stop. — 10 years ago
1996 vintage. Typical pyrazine nose (bell pepper, bay leaf) with raspberry. Soft tannins stop-short the ripe red berry character. — 10 years ago
As always, Spottswoode is outstanding... don't want to stop drinking it. — 11 years ago

Big cherries. Lots of tannin. Keeps coming. Bold bold bold. huge alcohol content. This wine doesn't stop — 9 years ago
Fantastic. Delicious berry flavor with an amazing finish. This will be our next stop in California. — 10 years ago
😳I'm absolutely shocked at how good this is. Reminds of me of his Renaissance blend minus all tannin and mineral completely, only the most tantalizing and fun parts separated for this cuvee. Holy god I hope you get to have some of this at some point. This is really sets the bar for wines around $30. I'll stop there. — 10 years ago
Tobacco, leather and tobacco leather. Well structured with tannins that do not stop. Excellent. — 10 years ago
Part of what makes great wine a wonderful thing to be addicted to is being able to share it with my best and truest friends. So..
a more Bordeaux style Cali Cab that's very in the great mid range style with the secondary tar and tobacco notes and lack of fruit forward that make a guy wanna say HOT DAWG and stop being pretentious about anything that doesn't make life great. Figger it it Y'all. — 9 years ago
Lovely wine! I cannot stop drinking this wine — 9 years ago
Another fabulous pick from dear friend and personal collection curator- C. Lawrence- this is such an interesting barb- not just big, but layered - & so swishable- could not stop smelling it for long !!! but when I did it was complex cola floral - stone fruits and such a captivating finish! was lovely with rangoons, heavy cheeses and blackberries, believe it or not! — 10 years ago
A nose that could stop an army. So young. — 10 years ago
I drink mostly grower fizz but I'll take this anytime. Pale color with apple nose. Not much yeast or toast. Flavor of apple, butter and some other white fruit. Very appealing! Provokes thoughtful discussion if you can get Judy and Rhonda to stop slurping it long enough. — 11 years ago
