A whiff and a sip of the 2001, my generous friend decided that it was not up to her standard and pull out the 2003, which I did not expect as I was really enjoying the 2001 and also had couple bottles of white before that.
While the nose was resemblant to the 2001 in terms of its herbal and earthiness, the fruits was not taking the backseat. A soft and round palate belied the still quite firm structure. Velvety firm tannins with long spicy finish. Polished and well balanced. Plenty of life left. Beautiful! — 7 years ago
Had this Year ago. More than 40 years, Ponzi Vineyards set the standard for New World Pinot production with many innovations & techniques. All 130 acres of Ponzi vineyards are certified sustainable. Aromas of rich ripe fruit and osk spice, aged for 20 months on French oak (30% new) with fruit from Ponzi's Aurora, Abetina and Madrona vineyards. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors with currants, herb and licorice notes. Lingers, well balanced frame ending with spice, cedar & mineral tones. Nice! — 7 years ago
New gold standard for deliciousness, though not sure how it sneaks into pool. Don’t let the smooth flavor fool you, I’m still about that #NAUGHTYBOYLIFE — 8 years ago
Standard napa can but well done. — 8 years ago
Well balanced. Good price point. Reliable standard. — 9 years ago
Pale gold with tiny persistent bubbles. Inviting nose and palate of ripe golden apples, ripe peaches, and clover honey. Light and fizzy on the tongue. Sweet (of course) but balanced with refreshing acidity. Short-ish finish, but you’re likely taking another sip before that matters. The gold standard for Moscato. A lovely treat on its own, with fresh fruit, or with lightly sweet dessert crepes. Also a great pair with the exceptionally spicy dishes that my dining partner likes to make (remember, “Sweet beats heat!”). Stop fronting. You know that you like this stuff. Drink now. — 6 years ago
A beautiful wine that ended a run of fantastic Phelps Insignia vintages. Unfortunately, more recent vintages have not met this standard. — 7 years ago
Surprisingly enjoyable for a Marlboro sauv blanc. I don’t drink this terroir or varietal much due to the standard palette across the board. This one had slight effervescence and lovely lilikoi and grapefruit on the aroma. Crisp, balanced acid and 100% dry finish. I would drink again — 7 years ago
163rd out of 375. A standard for good reason. — 8 years ago
Herbal, savory, Sage, scorched earth and orange peel rind. Delicate and very pretty. — 8 years ago
Much more powerful than the standard cuvée. Strawberries and black pepper. Was in a great spot after being open about an hour. — 9 years ago
Micro-bubbles galore, Yum! This might be close second for a Friday evening standard for @David T but tonight it is flowing into glasses on the complete opposite side of the Country. A wonderful Blanc de Blanc Champagne.
Nose has freshly scrubbed lemon, grapefruit peel, sliced Granny Smith apple, wet chalk, cold brioche and Gardenia blossom in a breeze.
Palate is fresh orange peel, grapefruit peel (like really wow), tart green apple, fresh walnut, crunchy brioche with a little hint of sweetened butter and a splash of acidic ocean water.
Finish is intense, yet elegant and lasting for many minutes. We are quite looking forward the the evolution of this bottle across the evening, as it warms from 46°F and gains air time.
Thank you @David T @Sofia Jalilie for allowing us into your week closing tradition. The next bottle should have us closer together. — 7 years ago
Ricky rosé! Pretty great, head over heals better than standard vueve! — 8 years ago
Essentially a more elegant version of Anomaly with a greater wood edge (same vintage). Excellent with filet mignon--would opt for the standard Anomaly with a rib eye or more fat-ribbed steak. Expensive. — 9 years ago

A favorite of mine. Fruit forward with easy going plum, black cherry and blueberry supported with the standard Caymus vanilla back. — 5 years ago
