The cork is perfect. The color is opaque. The legs are thick, long, and slow to flow. The bouquet is English lavender and honey. The initial palate is amazing!!!!! WOW! Im so impressed! Black cherry and cranberry bliss. There is a red pepper , spicy tang that I absolutely love! I so want to share this with someone so bad. There is butter, coffee, , and clove. There is black currant and oak. The finish is not that dry and leaves a desire for more!!!!! I dare you to try to have just one glass because I have just had two glasses and I am aching for three ! Good grief, Im doing it. Three it is! Cheers my friends! Stay thirsty... ha ha. — 9 years ago
Light & refreshing! Perfect for summer! Not to sweet with a subtle apple tang. — 11 years ago
Floral, with that wonderful Italian white finish-pleasantly bitter root: herbal tang — 11 years ago
Came back in a few years. Has more of a chalky nose but just so fucking delicious. Again, tang, salinity, some texture and pear fruit I cannot believe this retailed at 14.99 at the time. On the upswing — 7 years ago
Opened my last 2005 bottle, aged well. Deep Ruby with concentrated aromas of ripe black fruits and floral spice. The palate shows rich blackberry and plum with a raspberry tang, complex, good acidity, balance and depth with ultra-smooth tannins. The finish ended with a slight earthy and woody spice, and cacao, very smooth and lingering. I tasted a 2005 in ‘16 and from my notes it’s not any better, so this wine is at its peak, find a bottle, get the corkscrew! Enjoy! — 7 years ago
Clear pale yellow color. Clean nose with ripe stone fruit, white peaches and Asian pears. The palate brings the fruit forward with a slight citrus tang and oak notes. A medium finish makes this wine enjoyable. Aged well. — 8 years ago
So. Damn. Good. Layers of complexity, bright food-friendly acidity. Baked apple, nutty, and citric tang. Truly unique — 10 years ago
Bought this 2 years ago. Still has lots of life, with fresh acidity and a slightly leesy, Chablis-like tang to the lemony vanilla fruit. — 10 years ago
Light, sweet with a tang. Went down fast! Paired with sushi. — 11 years ago
This is my new favorite summer Rose!! perfect balance, floral notes with just the right "tang" on the finish. Drink cold on a warm summer day and you win!! — 11 years ago
Had this in a recent blind tasting. Aged for 12 months, very pleasant light berry fruit aromas with slight undertones of earthiness. On the palate cherry and currants with subtle spice. I would consider this one of the lighter bodied CA Pinot’s I have tasted. Soft tannins lingering ending with a mineral tang. Nice, from their 1500 acre Grace Benoit Ranch in Carneros. Consistent quality from recent tastings. — 7 years ago
Found an older (375 ml) bottle, tasted great. Opening noticed a slight effervescence in a light golden yellow color. Aromas of sweet stone fruits and citrus along with a touch of floral spice. The palate shows flavors of sweet peaches and apricots with a grape-like tang. The finish is medium in length with citrus and sweet spice nuances ending with honey notes. Very nice! — 8 years ago
Juicy, bit of tang, earthy, long. Great juice — 10 years ago
Bright, very bright. Not blinding, but definitely bright enough to warrant the figurative mouth sunglasses. The first swig is almost aggressive in it's tang - very fruity and held together with some acidity (the partnership works well). Then it hangs around a little, showing off it's body, which is fairly stocky like a water polo player without being the least bit overweight. It climbs out of the mouth-pool rather quickly, as if it weighed but a feather, dripping a little trail of mineral taste as it heads for the locker room, leaving you wondering how such a robust body can still seem so light and how it can start out almost sweet and finish almost dry. And how bad this review is. (I have no idea what I'm talking about.) But it's a solid wine - really solid. — 11 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Recently grabbed another ‘13, Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cab, produced at their Geyserville estate in Sonoma. Blend of 95% Cab Sauv, 2% Merlot, 2% Cab Franc & 1% Malbec. Aromas of ripe berry fruits, sweet herbs and subtle spice wrapped in a beautiful vibrant Ruby color. On the palate blackberry and cherry flavors with vanilla and candied spice notes sitting in soft oak. Fine smooth tannins, great balance on lingering finish ending with a mineral tang. Got softer but leave in cellar, drink if U R tempted! — 7 years ago
