Love! You can taste the bourbon barrel. Smells so good. Long legs, ripe red berries, smoky bourbon barrels. — 3 years ago

Potential to go even higher with more age. — 5 years ago
At 15 years old, perhaps slightly past peak maturity but still fruit dominated, with a little tannin. Nicely balanced though only a trace of structure; very pleasant. — 7 years ago
Pale and lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with yeasty and toasty oak aromas, sat on lees for 6 months. On the palate flavors of crisp apple and peach with citrus zest and nutty oak notes, well balanced with acidity. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, toasty oak and mineral character. Pair with a lane or red snapper with a tomato garlic compote topping. — 8 months ago
We had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Hermann J. Wiemer.
On the nose there was nice strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous notes and green bell pepper.
On the palate there was good strawberry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, a bit of oak and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with light velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves with a medium to medium + red fruit gravel dust finish. Well it looks as though spring can't make up her mind. This weekend looks to be a bit on the cooler side so lets get out and enjoy ourselves. Please stay safe and healthy. Good mid palate weight and purity. Red sweet raspberries get swamped in grippy acid and savoury notes. excellent balance. Good but not great p/q — 5 years ago

Amazing Sauvignon Blanc — 10 months ago
Bought in Wanaka, best wine out of all the ones during the wine tasting. Delicious!!
Saved the bottle and drank 4 years later, was a little tangy. We probably left it too long. Still really nice though! — 4 years ago

Quite light ruby garnet , wide garnet rim . On the nose this shows red currant , wild strawberry , dry spice , dried rose , herbal touches and tangerine peel . The palate is quite elegant with wild strawberry , red currant and those fresh herbal hints , with just a touch of bitterness . Fresh acidity , and slightly gritty tannins . Quite refreshing with good length and balance, that touch of bitterness doesn’t detract from the rest of wine. This is quite linear and focused, perhaps slightly strict , uncompromising in style , but probably has a few years left in the cellar and might improve over the next 2-3 years and last well a further 5 or so. — 7 months ago
