100% Grenache from Madrid. Huge on the organics. Smoke, Earth and rubber on the nose. Earthy and minerals on the pallet. Jammy Fruit notes are prevalent on the mid-pallet. Complex and bold. Best with food. Quite a unique expression of an Old World wine. — 6 years ago
From the Haro-Lumia Tasters Dozen. Faint notes of cherry are evident, but secondary flavors dominate this medium-bodied wine. While lighter on the palate, it is full of forest floor, mushroom, and tobacco flavors. The finish is long and ends with a hint of menthol. Just a beautiful, seductive wine that will only get better over the next 10 years. A WS Top 100. — 9 years ago

This white Rioja wine - Viura and “other varieties” - shows a pale golden tint in the glass. The nose is beautiful. Citrus and tropical fruit abound, with a stony minerality laced into the fruit. On the palate, the acidity is extremely refreshing and the flavors of tangerines and lemons are again presented in mineral fashion. The finish is lengthy and the tropical fruit seems to last the longest. — 9 years ago
The fruit is so bright and vibrant - clear clean fruit, nothing jammy or sticky. But balanced. Not dusty but a bit funky. I know there's oak but it's not in my face. This wine is artful yet precise. A delight. #rioja #haro #spain #tempranillo #dogsofdelectable — 10 years ago

Rich, intense red fruit, ripe backyard-grown raspberries, green olive, camphor, beautiful balance and intrigue. A distinctive one, for sure. — 6 years ago
This was great. Style held up well to (Vintage meathook!) steak and was a good value on the restaurant wine list. Tannins worked well with steak but we’re more robust than I expected. Improved with some air. — 6 years ago

Sorry for being AWOL. But I bring tidings of great joy. The 2014 is out! (So is Bogle Phantom. More later! I just kiss on the first date!) I love Le Fiacre du Pape. Hands down one of the best values -- and most under the radar -- wines on the market. Brought to me many vintages ago by Señor Haro, a formidable presence in the wine world. The 2014 has great fruit, with a nice meaty backdrop. Lots of bacon fat and mushroom. Awesome. Unlike past years a bit tannic. Needs to breathe! Always one to have on hand. — 9 years ago

The 2013 Bodega Classica Lopez de Haro Reserva is medium dark in the glass. The nose is aromatic with violets, cigars, ripe plums and earth. On the palate, we find big, dark fruit, oak spice and a meaty black olive note. Tannins are firm and the acidity is lively, so it's great to sip as well as have it with some steak. — 8 years ago
Wonderfully easy to drink. Great white. — 8 years ago
Strong nose, full body, drinks nice now.

For 3 euros a bottle, this is a beautiful wine. Not too light but definitely a daily drinkable wine with or without food. — 10 years ago
