A beautifully balanced, intense evocation of South of France Syrah. Though the Delectable header doesn't show it this wine is from Chateau de l'Ou and is technically an IGP Côtes Catalanes. Think Northern Rhône on steroids - less minerality but more fruit - cassis, blackberry, mocha and exceptional depth. Very long finish as well and still a few years to grow. Stunning — 9 years ago

We adore the nose on this one, just like freshly proofing bread every time. The blend is 80% Pinot Meunier, 15% Chardonnay with 5% Pinot Noir. (Lot DB050314)

As the bottle warms a cooked/toasty pear note really starts showing. On the palate there is fig, dried ginger and dried lemon zest with honeyed pear. This wine evolves tremendously as it warms, when you can't reach the slightly chilled bottle for a refill because you have a sleepy kitten on your lap. — 9 years ago
