Very solid Pinot to kick off the weekend, and free ourselves from the sauv blanc mauling we endured last night.
Superb, crystalline, visual presentation. On the nose, it's pure cola. Palete is clean, sharp and delineated. Cola and raspberries commingle. Bright, mineral-driven finish, with plump acidity. Excellent example by Brewer-Clifton. β 9 years ago
Always represents its self well against the Cali Cult Cabs!!!β Had the CΕur De VallΓ©e Cab, cause I broke the Passionnent in the decanter 10-minutes before kick off, a sad a moment! It stood up to Harlanβs Promontory, Scarecrow, Rudd, & and 04 Insignia. Again a true expression@of Oakville terroir to bad we couldnβt compare a Screaming Eagle. β 7 years ago
Light plain simple little kick in the end β 8 years ago
Wonderful wine paired with the chefβs tasting menu tonight in Breda Netherlands. A very solid French Bordeaux - dry, abrupt finish. Great way to kick off the EU travel tour. β 8 years ago
This wine is dark and almost black in the glass. It is dry but alive and bright with a kick to it. Has some nice tannins that provide for a gripping finish. β 8 years ago
Pleasant rich flavors; clean minearaly aroma; an elegant Sauv Blanc β 9 years ago
The 2010 Esprit de Beaucastel from Tablas Creek was a tough act to follow, but this elegant RhΓ΄ne blend from Sonoma just did that.
The nose was quite similar with aroma of blue fruits and earthy elements with hint of violet, it was the palate that set it apart: soft, complex and deep, with great texture and beautiful acidity that adds the tension. Elegant and seamless.
Kale Anderson was the long time wine maker at Pahlmeyer, and Kale wines are all vineyard-specific. Worth seeking out. β 7 years ago
Discreet nose of garrigue, olive, blackberry, pepper. The palate is very fresh with a splendid balance between a rather strong acid backbone and fruit and matter on the sides. Some tannins to kick things up and a fresh finish with fruit. Very lovely. Definitely the kind of Languedoc stuff I want to sip on regularly. β 7 years ago

There is an irony thing in the nose along with violet and rose petals and cherry and a bit of black pepper. This is the nose I fell in love with 10 years ago. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid backbone, a very nice round and radiating fruit, a bit of a sweet touch, some nice oily, scratchy tannins which kick things up for a rather long finish with that fruit, pepper and a long lasting floral aftertaste. So great. This is 7 Euro when you buy it from the winery directly and it's 15 kilometers from where I am right now π β 6 years ago
