WOW!!! Incredible new vintage of this outstanding wine! Herbs, Leather, smoke, vanilla with a hint of barnyard on the nose. That said, lots of blue and black fruit flavors on the pallet. Full bodied and luscious. Long and lingering finish. This is a wine of the year candidate! Revisited during Christmas week 2019. Noted the blend is 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah. 10% Counoise with the balance being made up of some of the other 10 permitted CDP grapes. Just brilliant! Revisited in August 2021. Improving with age! Revisited again in December 2023. Tannins are starting to mellow. Drinking beautifully! Revisited again in January 2025. Hitting the sweet spot. — 7 years ago
Excellent, bold new world take on a traditional CDR. Tobacco and raisins. Maybe cinnamon or cardamom. But more fruit forward with jammy dark berries. Tangy. — 8 years ago
Delicious and crisp wine, with slight berry note, but still quite dry and smooth. Great feature at total wine in VA — 8 years ago
Big tannins and roses, with some cherry. Recalls whiskey! Enjoyed it very much even though the person in line at my local wine shop said "oh, 2012 vintage...it's fine, just a bit, understated." — 8 years ago
Savory, meaty, earthy, caramelized, charred soy. Nose like a bowl of bomb ramen So good. — 9 years ago

This is unquestionably Cabernet at its best. Perfect in every way. Enough said. — 7 years ago

An always impressive effort, this Bordeaux style blend never disappoints. This vintage is par for the course- a big wine, with thick chewy tannins and rich mocha cherry flavors. The lingering finish is lice aniseed pop rocks on the tongue. — 8 years ago
Provenance is everything. Wonderful bottle with the floral elegant nose you expect from mature Margaux. In company was the wine direct of Alain ducasse in Monaco who said he'd never had as good a bottle of this in France! From a cellar where it never moved for 35 years. Really lovely surprise. — 9 years ago
The perceived ripeness of fruit and level of suave tannin here was surprising to me. An 88’ a couple of years ago was so elegant and finessed where this showed a surprising level of concentration. That said, beautifully mature wine, its tannins have softened immensely and wrap the mouth, silky and soft. To tertiary, earth driven, behind a bit of dried berry, currant, and plum fruit laid pipe tobacco, peat, pipe smoke, dusty earth, dried flowers, worn leather. — 6 years ago
The Drinking Window experts say I should drink my last 2008 Art Series Chardonnay. Delicious as always with a timeless feel about it and the thumbprint of luscious stone fruit and pear. The 2016 was just released and reviewed by Ray Jordan who is a WA Wine expert who gave it 99+ points. He said he gave the 2015 99 points yet the 2016 is a better wine and given he doesn’t give 100 he then had to give the 2016 99+ points. The 2008 is drinking beautifully. Could go on short term but why bother. — 7 years ago
Beautiful rose! Very dry orange coloured. Strawberry peach and apricot smell and taste. Has a bitter finish. Very crisp — 7 years ago
Juicy red berries, eucalyptus, intense floral notes. Super funky, but yet so balanced. Playful. Like butterfies in your belly, it’s like a crazy romance. One of the best I drank in 2017! — 8 years ago
Wednesday Wine Committee. As always, wines are tasted blind. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert.
Not a lot to say on this that hasn’t been said. One of the top SBs coming out of Cali year end and year out. Melka and Arkenstone are in an echelon alone in my opinion, followed by Addax, Bevan, Montagu, and this. Bold style SB. Not overly tart or acidic. Mineral notes and beautiful texture. I guessed high end Cali SB. ✔️ — 8 years ago

When you have to travel on a Sunday, and that Sunday happens to be Mother's Day, you're not exactly psyched. This little oasis in the Delta Sky Club afforded me the opportunity to smile. Not a bad pour, regardless of the price. Typical Lynch-Bages cigar tobacco and leather with some luscious and velvety black fruit. Finished a little flat, most likely due to being open for a while in the fancy automated pour gizmo. But still smiling! — 9 years ago

The 2015 Opus One is rich, sensual and super-polished. That said, 2015 has really shut down since I tasted it last year, which is probably a very good sign for the future. All of the fruit intensity and ripeness of the vintage is evident, but the wine feels a bit more compact and less exuberant than it did at the outset. Sweet floral and spice notes add a gentler touch as the wine opens up just a bit with air. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2020)
