Amazing with sushi. — 8 years ago
Classic Pinot Gris from south facing slopes in the Guebwiller valley in Alsace. Off dry on the palate with some apple, pear and a touch of citrus. With good acidity and minerality, the wine did open up some more in the glass. Still youthful, it had a very refreshing mouthfeel. This would pair well with fois gras and soft cheeses.

I celebrated another year on this planet earlier this week, always glad when I am continuing to count days gone by! Some fun stuff in the works for tonight.
Birth year bottle, yes, I'm old... Notes forthcoming... Smelling great in the recent decant!
Intense rehydrated pineapple, light sweet, absolutely awesome, can't wait to open the 'better' bottle in another couple months for my wife's b-day! — 7 years ago
Lychee, candied peach, white flowers, lemon zest, and ginger. Heavy mouthfeel could come across as almost syrupy if not served at proper temperature (cold.) Very traditional, good wine. — 8 years ago
— 8 years ago
A delicious Grand Cru Alsatian Riesling from Schlumberger. The Saering 2011 is fine-tuned and surprisingly powerful. Grown in marl-limestone-sandstone soils, where vine roots burrow deep, the countenance of this wine one of white peaches and lemon curd, complicated by a pretty, herbaceous veneer. On the palate, it's lush and creamy, with decadent layers of orchard fruit hemmed in by stoniness and spice. The perception here is one of dryness, but there is ample concentration and body too. 3.9 g/l RS 13.32% ABV Sample — 9 years ago
Skin-contact Pinot Gris from the Neuberg vineyard in Buhl, northwest of Guebwiller in the Haut-Rhin (Alsace). Slightly cloudy, medium salmon color. Complex nose with aromas of candied orange, pink grapefruit and hints of red fruit and sweet spices. Round, medium bodied. Citrus flavors, good acidity. Long finish with grapefruit notes. — 4 years ago
A superb scent of mountain flowers supports a sumptuous, yet acidic, mouthfeel of golden raisins, herbs, and minerals. This is a serious Riesling...do yourself a favor and drink it by itself. While best at correct temperature, it still satisfies at room temp. Wonderful! — 9 years ago

Sour and sweet aroma with pear and taste, very special. Delicious wine. Minerally and acidic. Highly balanced. 2014 @950(1140), Fwine -, 211030-211206 — 4 years ago
