But too technical for my taste — 8 months ago
2016 vintage. Dirk Niepoort's answer to Burgundy and it actually has a Pinot Noir like colour and mouthfeel. This is a very unusual Douro from very old vines. Delicate nose with sour cherries , pomegranate and flowers. It is all about finesse and subtlety. Very long. Delicious and expensive (80 euros), but if you see the prices of Portuguese high end wines these days it almost seems a bargain. — 2 years ago

good. Black currant, berry and cherry a bit. Almaviva 22 @31900, Pieroth, 241115 — 6 months ago
Nose: candied peach, hint of nectarine, white flowers, petrol. Also with a background of slightly green herbal character which is pleasant.
Palate: perfectly ripe peach, slight saline quality. Delectable this is jj prum graacher himmelreich kabinett 2020 — 7 months ago

Green apple, tangerine, and lemon zest with good acidity and hints of mineral. My husband loved it! — 5 years ago
Toffee and maple aromas stand out in this Colheita. Flavours of biscuit and toasted pecan emerge thereafter. The finish is vaguely like vanilla. — 6 years ago

Last weekend turned out to be a 2011 extravaganza and thankfully, a rather pleasant one. Not my favourite vintage in Europe, with the Mosel churning out many wines that could occupy higher pradikat levels than stated. Nevertheless, the best examples had a ripe delicacy, showing lightness and freshness within the opulence. That was just exactly what the Prum GK portrayed - rich and earthy notes wrapped in crackling acidity. Pure aromas of mango, peach, orange, fresh quince, and cream, with a light honey note and lovely floral qualities. The palate manages to remain very juicy, despite the ripeness and botrytis. Immense weight and finish, as expected of a GK. Complains? I felt the botrytized notes could have come off a little cleaner on the palate. There is slightly too much musky-savoury element, although it does not disrupt the freshness of the wine. MO also detected a slight bitterness in the finish and she felt the minerality could be more pronounced, both points I don't really agree with but hey... she's got a better palate than me. — 6 years ago

Never fails to impress me how aged Riesling not only holds up but is so excellent, fresh with fruit and acid. — 6 months ago
