Unmistakably Steiermark SB - green asparagus, nettle, grass with a pronounced mineral, stony, slightly smokey backbone. On the palate this is tightly wound around a core of juicy, vibrant, mineral acidity. Yet it has (just) enough body & great depth with a spicy, vibrant mineral finish to make it a really profound wine. This one should wait for at least another 10y. If you can control yourself. — 3 years ago

Morillon vom Opok
Biodynamic Chardonnay from Steiermark.
Cloudy, smokey, yeasty, sappy, fresh!
Bruised apples, ripe lemons, underripe pineapple, green mango. Plus some hay, flinty, smokey aromas. Juicy, fresh, enticing.
On the palate with vibrant acidity, with great freshness & depth. Rough around the edges, with a touch of cidery notes, a bit of VA. There’s a creamy touch to the mouthfeel. And a mineral hint. This is ultra drinkable and so delicious. Love it! — 2 years ago
