Nicolas Potel has always done very elegant and understated wines with lots of complexity. This one is no different. Elegant rather than powerful, cherry, rose fannee, violets, really velvety tannins on an incredibly balanced grand cru that is a pleasure to drink or can be hold for some time. Lacks a tiny bit of body for a Clos de Beze hence the score. Highly recommended. — 7 years ago

Nice flinty reductive properties that envelops into a rich minerality. Not lacking in fruit with some cantaloupe and lemon rind. Overall a great expression of Côte d'Or as a white wine with the complexity and familiar body of a red. — 9 years ago

Very easy drinking and somewhat sweet but not overly sweet. — 7 years ago
Lovely red fruit of cranberry and raspberry with some light, floral, spice and mineral hints. Super fresh and alive at 15 years with no signs of tiring. — 8 years ago
Nose of vanilla, cherry, spices. Very balanced palate with fruits (cherry again, but strawberry too), round tannins, green pepper, nice acid backbone and a quite long finish. More subtle and elegant than full and ripe. I like its style — 9 years ago

Solid Cote de Beaune village from a great year. Beginnings of secondary aromas and flavors of earth with still good balance of fruit and acid. — 9 years ago
Crisp, fruity, sharp apple notes, fairly sour and very refreshing — 7 years ago
Sweet generous Volnay red fruit with accompanying high acidity again reminding me of a Williams Selyem RRV style. Just enough earth and gamey Burgundian aromas to keep it interesting and definitely Old World. Drinking great at 18 if a little bloody at times. — 8 years ago
