Night 1 of the Fall WNH event in San Antonio. What a killer start to the extended weekend, all courtesy to Shawn and Jennifer for hosting! Tonight was Italian wines.
Another in the running for WOTN. Maple and rich! Cherry and vanilla tobacco on the nose with herbal spice and a strawberry tart finish. Young and acidic! There is a very underripe red fruit dominant profile here. Crazy how young it tastes for 23yrs old. Bravo @Shawn R ! — 8 years ago
This is up there in my top 5 this year - this is shooting at me 0 to 60 in a Porsche GTO or 3 seconds but finishing like the tortoise against the hare - a winner and in slow motion - but nice and smooth and long - wait now I am confused - am I drinking wine or getting ready for sex / oh wait - never mind - different story - but this is badass is a glass as my friend @Martin G Rivard would say

Very nice, needs a little time to breathe, nuts has nice fruit and tannins in a good balance. I'm running out of bottles and will be disappointed! — 8 years ago

Has to be good because it says UVA on the label. Security blankets and warm socks by the fire. Like a lover running his fingers through your hair after a long day. — 9 years ago

Medium. Running lean. Good structure. — 8 years ago
No risk-taking tonight.
Starts with forest floor and red berry nose. Some licorice--but I always say that, and greenery/pine. Running a little hot, she's still young and needs to mature, a little. Low acidity, medium purple color, medium plus body, medium tannins. Super solid, not sensational.

2016v. Very pale gold. On the nose, it smells yellow apple and grape juice. On the palette, there is an intense, deep grape flavor from the clairette, a little bit of body and back of the mouth waxiness from the roussane, and clean acidity. A lovely wine on its own. I drank it with some firm cheeses. A little bit delicate, so dont be too bold with food pairings. Bought from the domaine in CDP after running around the cellar with the wine's attendant, Ms. Helène Bleuzen, who is destined to be a famous future name in winemaking. 13.5% ABV. — 8 years ago
Gritty n pretty-- a lil bit country, a lil bit rock n roll-- white grapefruit rind, almost running a red light and your first kiss on your second date. Happy days :) — 9 years ago
Opened this a few days ago. It was entirely too fancy too guzzle on a school night after a difficult work day, but I saw it and I wanted it and I make no apologies. Elegant. Enough tannin to keep me on my toes. Pairs well with hamburgers and running out of fucks to give. #laterwine — 9 years ago

A nice fine mousse, nose hints at some age though it’s not vintage dated. Good seam of acidity running through it, more fruity than yeasty. I’d buy it again for €12. Certified organic and from estate owned vineyards. — 6 years ago
