2013 vintage; grape is called Ruché Castagnole Monferrato grown north of Barolo. Small percentage of grapes (5%) are dried before pressed, like appassiemento, and rest are harvested late. Quite viscous with red brick color of light intensity; interesting intense nose of dark dried fruits and raspberries; same fruits in the mouth with added silky tannins, liquorice, acidity and long finish. Is similar in body and texture as zinfandel. But instead of strawberry notes of wild berry and pepper. Pleasant floral aromas, and soft finish. — 10 years ago

It responds well to the definition of this wine: medium bodied with a light aromatic accent. This one adds a distinctive flowery flavor, with a presence of rose and a little violet. — 8 years ago
