So much to say about this bottle. Its profile, its history, its growing rarity. And the fact that it was made at the very peak of The Patriarch’s era…
Then there is the occasion. A wine you cellar and protect, waiting patiently for the one moment worthy of all its allure.
A wine from a cooler Napa Valley, so evident in the glass it becomes mesmerizing. The freshness, the tension, the quiet authority; everything speaks of a time and place in Napa which no longer exists.
Yes, this is the kind of bottle that stays with you, not just as a wine, but as a memory. — 6 months ago

From a presumed late Domaine release, perfect looking bottle with high fill that threw off a lot of sediment. Tawny amber color, translucent and light in the glass. Light cherry, dry brush and rhubarb notes. A nice subtle richness in the mouth. Fruit is somewhat gone but still enough to match the rounded tannins and structure. Again, with air this blossomed and was a great experience for everyone. Another bottle from the Don Stott cellar. — 9 years ago

Drank it just in time...starting to show signs of decline but still delicious! — 12 years ago
One of the few Cali SB that can compete with the top Pessac wines. — 12 years ago
This is what new world should be. Pepper fruit oak. — 5 months ago
Can’t rate. Maybe the wine is in a weird spot or my palate was affected by the 4 sessions of snow shoveling, but if I had a blindfold on I would have thought this was a red. Somewhat restrained on the palate with lots of steel elements and some earth. Color was great, as was the cork, so must be me. Usually one of my favorites! — 6 months ago
Really nice starting to get some secondary flavors. Overall enjoyed it. — 7 months ago
I theory enjoyed this wine. It opened up fantastically and had a smooth velvety flavor. Paired with beef, rice and carrots. Plan to purchase again. Would taste better with steak or something more full in my opinion. — 7 years ago
This wine exceeded expectations. Though the restaurant could have served it much colder (their food was excellent BTW). — 9 years ago
Definitely needs to open up. Was sweet on the first sip. Significant fruit tones at the outset and got dry as it opened. I would give it a good half hour and drink and enjoy. Solid choice. — 10 years ago
Bright aromas tangerine and citrus with a touch of pear. Juicy on the palate with tons of slatey minerality. Bright acidity balanced by lemon and lime fruit. Medium clean finish. — 11 years ago

Yummy fruit forward — 13 years ago
Weeknight treat. Medium body, creme brulee on nose and some custardy finish but great acid. Just so many great things to love in this chardonnay. I still prefer Ma Belle Fille — 5 months ago
Nice tertiary notes of mushroom and forest floor. Fruit is still present albeit somewhat muted. Enjoyable but not the very best from the climat. — 7 months ago
Nose is faint, fully resolving into the body. Body is soft and supple but wonderful experience on the palate with medium finish. Great wine. Tannins are still there, but holding the body with gossamer gloves. — 9 months ago
Fruit is still there! One of my favorites! Bob Foley is as good a winemaker as there is on the planet! Big, fruit driven, plum and rich, but incredibly balanced. Just so good!! — 6 years ago
Dark fruits, intense colour, great legs. A real bargain. — 8 years ago
Amazing vintage of Peter Michael. Delicious. — 9 years ago
