Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2019 pours a pale yellow color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with intense, ripe notes of Comice pears, baked green apple, mixed fruit cup, lemons, white tree flowers, lanolin, raw almond, tarragon, a touch of raw honey and minerals. On the palate, the wine is off-dry(?) with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is waxy. I questioned the off-dry call because I actually think it’s dry but the power and ripeness of the fruit, not to mention the 15% ABV(!!), give the impression of sweetness. An utterly balanced wine despite the big personality. A wine that gives main character energy. I wish I had a week or more to track the development because this is such a wee babe. Drink now to experience its youth and enjoy through 2049. — 9 months ago

222/5/4 with sushi. L02B02. Lemon, honey, brioche, chalk - everything is here, with a bit more depth and richness than I remember it having 5-10 years ago. For me, this is THE classicist, brut blanc de blancs standard cuvée. It’s so great to have a wine like this reasonably available and reasonably priced. — 4 years ago
Tart pomegranate, crisp acidity with some minerality. Underappreciated. Incredible for the price. Great way to start off dinner at Vicia. — 4 years ago

I tasted this same 2010 about a year ago and wondered it would improve with further aging. I think the answer is yes.
This time around it shows more layered profile, with bruised apple, honeysuckle, beeswax, citrus peel, and wet stone leading the nose. The palate is broad and textured. Acidity has shaved off some hard edges, yet remains focus and intense. Engaging long finish. — 8 months ago

I really enjoyed it, 13 % abv. Got on sale for $12.99, so great buy. — 3 years ago

This is great! I love the sparkling wine like taste. Went down fast. Would def. Have again. Drank with tandoori chicken, 4 bean salad, and collard greens. — 4 years ago
Always and forever my favorite grower (that I have frequently enough). Here, his entry level bottle from 2014 vintage. Always single vineyard, single variety and single vintage. Wonderful intensity and really solid complexity. Baked pears and golden apples, spices and flowers. Finishes with very good length and depth. Never ceases to impress. — 6 years ago
Loved this showing, a very classy and expressive wine, all finesse and complexity. Aging glacially, still so youthful in the glass, I could see this needing another 5-8 before fully relaxing. My favorite part about these wines is the texture and harmonious acid, which melds into the wine from front to back. There’s never anything overt, sharp, or obtrusive, and the transition the wine makes across the palate is seamless. Texturally engaging, theres well confined oak and phenolics adding dimension. Bergamot, ripe green apple, asian pear, green pineapple, lime blossom, damp chalk, button mushrooms, chervil, sweet tarragon, cream, a slight touch of spring honey. — 7 years ago
I bought this at a gas station and I’m lowkey surprised and impressed??? Semi sweet (3/10 sweet) and lemongrass & citrus notes. — 3 years ago
If you are in the mood for a NZ Sauvignon Blanc that’s not tooo New Zealand here ya go. I like this one. Passion fruit and tangerines. Peach and pebbles. And just a touch of grass and gooseberry to remind you this is NZ Sauvignon Blanc — 4 years ago
The 17’ seems to have high percentage of Chard (I believe it’s normally around 30-35%) than the previous vintages I tasted. Stone fruits dominants the fruit profile and it feels more buttery, though aromatics and texture still shows some characters of the Rhone varieties. Quite nice still. — 5 years ago
I’ve run out of the wine that I brought with me so I headed to Total Wine (an essential business during the city shutdown) to replenish the stash. This was one of the buys. I visited Chappelet during Premier Napa Valley for the Pritchard Hill tasting. Really liked the high end lineup so I thought I would give this a try. Had with Fresco Cafe Italiano take away. — 6 years ago
