Sourced from Jericho Canyon. Ramey & Rudd had sourced it in prior years.

Started by Edward Wallis in 1975, (just out of college) on estate dating back to early 1900’s, called Château Pacheteau. Way later in 1988, he replanted 13 acres of vines and started selling fruit to Ramey and in 2006 started his label. Got a taste via Corvin. Blend of 57% Petite Verdot, 29% Cab Franc & 14% Cab Sauvignon, aged for 20 mos. in French (80% new). Earthy and fruit aromas, dark berry and currant flavors with espresso and leather notes. Big firm tannins, ending with earthy oak character. Needs Time! — 8 years ago

I remember tasting this wine around 20 years ago & I remember exactly what it tasted like. One of the best wines from Napa for the 98 vintage. Rice a Roni should give David Ramey the Jericho Canyon fruit back to make Cabernet. These Rudd & the Ramey Jerichos are top notch. I just read Pepsi now owns Rice a Roni. — 5 years ago

Really, really tasty. Second Chardonnay back to back. Loads of tangy yogurt at first, as this wine bursts with acidity, but that’s not the whole story by a long shot. Granny Smith Apple, Danish pastry, ripe pineapple all meld together wonderfully - the finish is looooooong. — 6 years ago
