Rene Bouvier is perhaps my favorite lesser known producer. I'm absolutely in love with his wines, be it a village Marsannay or an aged Grand Cru Échezeaux. And this bottle proves my love right — elegant, cherry pie infused young fruit, deliciously balanced even at this silly age. It's like a kid who can't lie yet — absolutely adorable and very fun to be around with. Please, please try it!
P.S. I am also very happy to be back from my horrible Southern Asia trip where people drink Jacobs Creek and honestly enjoy it. — 10 years ago
Red fruit city. Acid drive and finesse. Very pretty cherry, red currant and strawberries. There is a very intriguing tannin profile which can only be described at graphite? Lovely and delicate. 93 points seems right. — 11 years ago
Drinking beautifully right now. The nose is of potting soil, perfume and wild raspberries. The palate is dripping with minerals. — 11 years ago

Still needs time but the future looks good for this wine. Showing the dark fruit masculinity and richness that typifies Gevrey-Chambertin. However, it does not have the gloriously velvety texture of the 2012 Rene Bouvier from nearby Fixin. — 11 years ago
