I was so nervous about proposing recently that I forgot my two birthyear wines I had saved for almost a year. Happy Belated to ME! Still celebrating the engagement too. A lot to celebrate! To those who are wondering if 86s are approachable yet, they are. This wine had been solid as a rock forever, but today it was seamless. Dank and pretty, intense cassis and black currant and blackberry reduction. Somehow fresh cut floral notes like lavender and cherry blossom. Fresh earth tone to it with an endless iron steel like mineral finish. Complimented by a rich wood tone. Perfectly softened tannins. This bottle was a milestone for me. — 10 years ago

A true treat. Old. No effervescence. But has some cut and spine still. Long finish. A St. Francis hotel liquor store sticker on it. Drinking history. — 11 years ago
Shocked this opened up after only an hour in decanter. A baby but a great bottle. A great mix of cut, length and weight. #raveneau #clos #whiteburgundy — 12 years ago

Jason surprised me with this excellent bottle of Spanish wine this week end. It is very flavorful! — 13 years ago
This is a splendid summer rose'. The nose is sea breeze and fresh cut strawberries. On the palate there is salted watermelon, strawberry and pomegranate. The finish is long with bright acidity, salinity and mineral. Just scrumptious. — 10 years ago
Oenomaniacs don't have pearly gates, we have Domaine de la Romanee Conti La Tache 1990. Outrageously sexy, with a celestial perfume of asian spices and underbrush and dried cherry. Eternal finish that tattoos itself on your tongue and palate. Medium to full-bodied, with startling freshness and grip for a quarter-centurion. La Tache 1990 will enthrall for another 30 to 50 years.

As far as big houses go, always been a fan of the special cuvée. This is a cut above - lots and lots of biscuit and toast, but very well integrated, bit of dried apricot and a slight tinge of bitter oxidation rounding out this one - fantastic sparkler. — 11 years ago
Definitely fruit/cherry forward but finishes very nice. All around a pretty decent Pinot. — 11 years ago

This is a new label and different fruit sources than used to use a step up — 12 years ago
Dark and full bodied, this wine brings on the darkness fruits: black plumb, dark cherry, black currant. It has relatively high acidity so should pair well with oily dishes. — 10 years ago
Perfect at 35K feet. Huge vanilla caramel custard favor. — 11 years ago
