Beguiling purity of black and purple fruit and sweet spice on the nose, freshly baked cherry pie, beaut! In the mouth this is rich without cloying and has wonderful ripe red fruited acidity, slick eminently drinkable, subtle beauty — 9 years ago
Clear deep purple colour with watery rim. Clean medium intensity aroma with minty black cherry and black currant with hint of oak smokiness and vanilla. Dry on the palate full bodied medium alcohol with medium acidity and high but smooth velvety tannin. Flavours of earthy black currant, black cherry, and vanilla. Flavours last through into its long pleasant finish. Very good quality, drink now but can age for another 3 to 5 years for a even more balanced complexity. — 10 years ago
Very good, turns teeth and tongue very purple — 10 years ago
Medium to dark purple color with a nose of blackberry jam and vanilla. Nice, full mouthfeel with good fruit, tannin, and acidity in balance. Somewhat one dimensional, but it plays that dimension well. Standby staple value buy. — 6 years ago
baby scarecrow is big, rich, delicious and deep purple, like a velvet glove on your tongue. — 7 years ago
Beautiful color and aroma. Little bottle shock 2014. Love it. — 9 years ago
Berry!!! Soft fizzy, my favorite beer for people who don't drink beer. — 9 years ago
Purple colour, plummy jammy chocolate nose and palate. Slightly bitter, classic warm climate shiraz. Tasted with 2009 Grange and almost as enjoyable. Preferred it to the Bin 128 and the 389. Bargain. — 10 years ago

04’ Joseph Phelps Insignia . Thought it would be close to a pop & pour...NO! Thick tannins that dissipate nicely after a 45 minute decant. Full - bodied.
Color- Dark purple
Nose- Flowers , lavender
Palate- Blackberry , espresso, light oak, nicely integrated acidity.
WOW... Seamless/smooth.
Drinking- now with another 5+? great years. Could possibly be many more. Drinking so nicely, why wait. — 6 years ago
Everything you'd expect and more. All the rich dark fruit, chocolate and lush purple flowers, but none of the sticky over-ripe flavors. So balanced. — 7 years ago
Clear, deep ruby with purple hue. Clean nose, medium intensity, showing ripe black fruits, chocolate, english cake, liquorice, black pepper. Dry. Medium body, full tannins, medium acidity, flavours of ripe black fruits, chocolate, english cake, liquorice, black pepper. Medium finish. Excellent. — 8 years ago
Now this is a great wine. Dark in color, almost black with a purple rim.
Magnificent nose with blueberries, figs, plums, and herbs.
Sweet candies on the palate with blueberries, cranberry, dried figs, raisins, peppercorn.
Big, bold and beautiful with gorgeous legs.
Smooth and sexy long finish with bold tannins and ripen fruits.
Great right out of the bottle. After 2 hours in the decanter, chewy tannins on the finish. This is not my first, and definitely not my last. Very consistent from year to year.

This one sat for another 7 months and totally blossomed from my Dec 2017 review. Loads of bright fruit and texture. Perfect balance of acidity, fruit, refined tannins and a uber long finish. Most enjoyable Pinot from Purple Hands. — 6 years ago
