Tasted blind. Nice bright tawny color. Notes of cherry, rhubarb, stems, moist soil and pea shoots. Lots of fruit in the mouth. A bit disjointed and kind of went all over the place. I guessed red burgundy, and there were other guesses citing other continents. A true CMF wine. We all guessed the color and the planet right. — 7 years ago
Just about our most favorite wine on the planet. Needs a healthy decant to show everything she’s got. After 4 hours the complexity and integration hits its stride. Tropical fruit (mostly pineapple) with zero tartness. 60 second finish. Much better balance than the 2012 regular Kongsgaard which is still too tight. — 8 years ago

On a different planet ... the nose is burgundian to the nth degree. Mature fruits yet still lifted by a bead of acidity. Earthy flavors are beginning to show up but the wine is still very primary. It is wines like these that make me remember why i fell in love with pinot. — 6 years ago

1986 vintage. Chrismaka lunch at the house. Served after 3.5hr decant (which was probably a few hours short of what I would do next time round). Medium garnet hue - the only true sign of age I found in the wine. Strong pencil sharpening, creme cassis and smoke. Cedar. Very youthful. A lot of fruit. Amazingly youthful. Complex. On the palate, medium plus acidity and tannins - ripe. Medium alcohol. Medium plus concentration of flavour. Balanced. Very long finish. Depth and balance. This is so young still. Don't open for another 10+ years. Drink 2026-2056+. Wonderful potential, but still a baby. Is there a wine on the planet built for the long term better than Las Cases? NB: this is superior to the 1982 I had a month ago. — 9 years ago

So, so surprisingly good. Oregon Rose Bubbles from Soter Vineyard where 100% of proceeds go to the Oregon Environmental Council. Do good while drinking good! It’s crisp. Faint light pink color. Dry on palate. Hint of berry with nice toastiness. May be hard to find outside the PNW but worth a try. Really good. Typically only around late Fall through holidays or when it sells out. — 7 years ago
This is the most delicious ,tasty Rosé Champagne on this planet. Made by Selosse only 6000 bottles, made with 2 vintages. Chardonnay from Avize and Pinot Noir from Ambonnay. Nose is overwhelming and taste complex , this wine was disgorged 2 years ago and ready to sip. — 9 years ago

2000 vintage was better than pro rating. Still a little watery. Slightly delicate. But it had good color and no bitterness. — 5 years ago
