Very smooth; didn’t have much time to decant and breathe and it still showed very nicely. — 6 years ago

Very well-balanced. But I wish it was a bit fuller-bodied. Sort of like how it's cool to see a gymnast standing one footed on the beam, but would be far more impressive to see an Hillary do it.

-UPDATE: this thing opened up really nicely over an hour or so (I was distracted from my drinking, usually it's all gone quicker than that). — 8 years ago

Great with steak, mushrooms, peppers, and salad whilst camping. — 6 years ago
The dryness, tannins & acidity of this wine paired well with braised short ribs. The ribs were accompanied by polenta & salad with Meyer Lemon vinaigrette. Very important pairing note - balancing acidity to cut richness but still give a pleasant mouth - feel. 2006 vintage - Floral notes weren't dominant for us. — 8 years ago
2011. Complex nose. Deeply pitched ripe dark berry fruit, wood smoke and piercing rock dust notes. Sledgehammer powerful in the mouth. Almost overwhelming rich dry extract coats the mouth. Huge body. Finish is very long with pure dark berry notes and dark minerals competing to see who quits first. Great wine. But you have to pick your moments for this one. — 9 years ago
