Very well done white wine. It comes from an area where the climate helps building freshness and aromas. Tried cold but very nice also at room temperature. Not only citrus fruit, but also white peach on the nose/palate. — 6 years ago

One of the wines from Le Volpe e l’uva in Firenze, this is a really nice example of a teroldego. Spice and sour cherry on the nose, the wine has a lot more fruit on the palate than I’m used to for this varietal (maybe 2013 was a warm vintage?). Terrific balance with very well-integrated, relatively sweet tannins. A wine you just keep going back to again and again. Highly recommend! — 7 years ago

I’m not really sure where the 8.8 ratings for this are coming from - maybe a different vintage - but this wine is fantastic. Great aromas of tropical fruits of all things on the nose, along with melon and maybe a hint of candied lemon. Beautiful mouthfeel with a rich, enveloping flavor profile. Definitely a warmer climate Italian white (from Campagna, so obviously I guess), the wine is impeccably balanced through a lingering finish. Another amazing QPR wine from the folks at Le Volpe e l’uva in Firenze! — 6 years ago
Ruby, slight rim variation. Earthy, bruised red fruit, a little green on the nose. Well balanced, medium tannins. Drinking the 2013 in 2018. Purchased at Casa del Vino in Firenze. 👌 — 7 years ago
Nose: black fruit, coffee, chocolate, old black cherry.
Palate: prune, raisin, blackberry, dried meats. Medium plus tannins and medium plus acidity. — 7 years ago

2017 barrel sample. This is for real good. — 6 years ago
Medium ruby. More soil character than most of the other Borghetto wines in this range- mushroom and potting soil notes coming through. Wet concrete aroma and stronger sense of minerality as well. Again it’s a tart red fruit profile of pomegranate, peppermint candy, orange rind and menthol. Mid palate provides the necessary warm spice character and sweet tannins that turn much harder and more bitter on the finish. This will need more time to settle down and develop its fruit, but very complex and showing some great potential. — 7 years ago
Took about two hours to open and the dark, smokey fruits continued to evolve in the glass. Paired well with lamb. A wonderful surprise with fonder memories. Grazie, Firenze. Salud! — 7 years ago
