Chesebro

La Montagne Sauvage Syrah Grenache 2013

Previously drank 15' and 14' sequentially and with slight yet pronounced acute differences due to vintage in the fruit, all varietals are pronounced and none overpowers the other. They seem to be adjusted to give the best presentation accordingly. The 13' had lesser vaccuum in bottling but did not sacrifice potential during storage as it fruit is still suddenly vibrant with syrah a top note. Tannins pierce the tip of the tongue and gradually roll to backside of the palate with pleasant ripened red cherries and red plums exclusively, slight smoke from surely light and medium toast from what seems to be American and French oak casks. This surely keeps a nice bouquet of spice lingering. Properly stored this production could poor well through 2025 where the plums might supersede the cherries, which might be more sophisticated. Either way all have been well built for the long haul and will eventually have a following for the experienced. Kudos to those who design wines and not just produce. — 4 years ago

Verdelho 2015

A cheery mix of coconut, unripe pineapple, and tannins. I love this Monterey wine. It reminds me of the old days, of a college party with music, booze, frat guys, and Malibu Rum. — 7 years ago

Really good Riesling, the winemaker, a woman, wears a gold necklace identical to that on the label. Great branding, great wine

Rolling View Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2015

Nicely realized Cab Franc. Nose is a pleasant combination of berry and caramel. Not fruit forward but nice traces of blackberry and plum. Tannins take over late. Good complexity and a good unique wine.

Holy hell. Top of the "KRIEK" charts. 2006 vintage. Quite a bit reminiscent of Flanders Red. Carbonation stays overnight. Pierce the cap carefully, else lose precious juice. — 8 years ago

Rolling View Vineyard Bianca Malvasia Bianca 2015

Bodega Pierce 2015 Malvasia Bianca, Rolling View Vineyard, Cochise County, Arizona. Purchased on my last trip to AZ. Served chilled with a cheese plate and friends on a sunny evening in my backyard. Aromas of pineapple, melon and fragrant honeysuckle with a hint of green herbs. Noticeable salinity. Viscous mouthfeel. A pretty wine for casual springtime sipping. — 7 years ago
