Part of a Chateau Mouton Rothschild vertical from 1988-1990. The 1988 shows great color and is quite charming with notes of cassis, tobacco, leather some bell pepper and a cinnamon bark sort of thing on the nose. Structure remains firm and this was a little greener than the ‘89 and ‘90. There is no risk of this falling off anytime soon; probably good through 2038. — 6 months ago

Always a treat with its perfumed aromatics, balanced dark cherry, berry fruits, spice, mineral, graphite, iron, olive, pepper & violets — 4 months ago
From Mag. An absolute wow of a bottle. The nose is crazy intense, lucid and profound. Dark plum fruit with a whiff of band aid, iron, black pepper, a tangy meatiness. Loads of delicate floral notes floating around, but a soulful and pristine bottle. As fresh as an early 2000’s bottle but so much age and precision going on. Wonderful. Just spectacular. — 8 months ago
Dark ruby hue. Aromas of bell pepper, blackcurrant, cassis, oak, strawberry, vanilla. Plus body, with medium tannins and plus acid. Relatively short finish. Easy drinking. — 9 months ago
heavy pencil shavings and cigar smoke on the nose. black olive and green bell pepper too. color is definitely what you’d expect in a 20 year old wine. palate is consistent with nose, very bordeaux-lite. heavy cigar box. a lot of olive and herb tapenade character. some black pepper on the finish too. very savory overall. — 2 years ago
Double decanted two nights before service. The 2006 pours a deep, slightly hazy garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with a mix of desiccated fruit and funky umami notes: bruised and desiccated strawberry, red rope licorice, nori, Cherry Dr. Pepper, cracked black pepper and leather. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is forever long and saline; it just hangs around forever. Initially, this came across as bit backward but it really gained power and character the more time it spent in the glass. Drink now with patience and through 2036. — 6 months ago
Green pepper nose. Bold taste. — 8 months ago
Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Pretty nose with wild flowers, red and black fruits, light oak, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, spices, dark chocolates, barnyard, light earth, herbs, licorice and black pepper.
Full-bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, spices, light oak, licorice, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco, tar, vegetables, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 9 year old Syrah from Northern Rhône is drinking very nicely now. Rich and fruit forward.
Extracted and in your face kind of wine. A little stinky, in a good way, as expected. Complex, elegant and smooth.
Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 7 years.
Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. I had the 2016 not too long ago, and liked it better.
Good by itself and better with food.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

Always reliably delicious!! Ready to pop and pour with its soft, velveteen tannins and robust, ripe black fruit notes such as cassis, blackberry, black cherry, also licorice, green bell pepper, nutmeg, cardamom, cedar, pencil shavings, clove, tobacco, and leather. — 2 years ago
Pepper on the nose; fruit is subtle compared to the Blasi and more complex. Still feels young — 3 years ago

No formal notes . Deeper ruby , medium wide ruby , garnet rim . Nice dark fruits , garrigue , black pepper. In the mouth nicely balanced acidity dark fruits , black pepper and herbal touches . Quite mineral and balanced on the medium length finish , fine slightly grippy tannins . Elegant and refined. Drinking well now though absolutely no rush , prime drinking over the next 5-10 years perhaps . — 3 months ago
