From one of Greece's most iconic producers, this wine is a stunning, lengthy and concentrated expression of Assyrtiko. Salty and mineral - it tastes of iodine, lime pith, fresh green apple, green olive skin and crushed stones, yet the addition of Athiri gives the wine a softness and lift. Completely transportive to the Aegean, the paradigm of an island wine. 75% Assyrtiko, 25% Athiri. — 6 years ago
My favorite N&N wine, hands down. Oak nose with mature blackberry. But the neatest thing about this: the nose has THE true expression of Oakville dirt. Got to smell the dirt at Paradigm and the nose of this wine ALWAYS takes me back to Oakville. Sweeter, dense blackberry fruit with a hint of vanilla and almost a purple note. Middle expresses the notes of the Oakville dirt. Lavender. Finished with nice, expressive notes of Oaked blackberry and POWER. For the heat they take among some winos, the one thing that cannot be denied is that they make consistently very good wine. — 7 years ago
Good wine in a great place right now! Great density. Tasted the 10, 11, and the 12 with Ms Cakebread in our recent trip. I think she was surprised we didn't like the 12. Parker gave this one a 93, which I shockingly agree with. I think this wine has incredible depth and density, but it was ready to go at pop and pour without any decanting needed. I don't think this is too age worthy, which is shocking given its AVA. FWIW, it seems Crocker&Starr and Paradigm Francs are just better "built." Still this is a indisputably good wine with great acidity, fruit core, tannin, and finish. More on Cellartracker. — 7 years ago
Very Chablis in effect...only 20% saw time in neutral oak. Lemon pith and rind oil sing lead with fresh minerality woven into the vibrant acidic structure. Pleasant, sophisticated mouthfeel from the lees...very functional with baked/broiled delicate white fish. Ripe fruit from a great harvest certainly make this paradigm possible ;) — 4 years ago
Buttery Chardonnay, greatly enjoyable. Shipped from the vineyard in its inventory sale at closing of Lutum for good. This bottle is a paradigm of California Chardonnay. — 5 years ago
Great way to celebrate the 4th of July. What are you guys drinking today?

2010 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon
______
Oakville, Napa Valley, North Coast, California, USA
________
Tasting Note:
Received a three hour decant and tasted blind. Deep and dark purplish ruby red. Layered nose with anise, cassis, cherries and rich undertone of black fruits as well. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. A light touch of heat on the palate but not overwhelming. Rich and lush palate with dark spices, blackberries, blue fruits, cinnamon and some dark cocoa. Long and lingering finish. A real treat to finally try a bottle! Drink till 2030.

Tasted with Gianfranco Soldera @ Case Basse. A paradigm changing visit. I can say this with confidence, no other winemaker on the planet has their finger on the pulse like Gianfranco. A man who is 1000% invested in his land that produces profound sangiovese. — 8 years ago
Raspberry, black cherry, dark chocolate and earthiness. A wine that proves just how much cool-climate Shiraz can offer. Echoes of St. Joseph. — 8 years ago
“This isn’t merely a good Albarino it’s a paradigm shifting wine the truly brings out the best of its grape and place. Put it next to the great mineral whites of Chablis or the Loire and it doesn’t miss a beat.” - SommSelect — 4 years ago
Cranberry, eucalyptus, graphite - just enough fruit. Paired well with my Thanksgiving lamb ;-) — 4 years ago
Floral and aromatic. Tart red cherries, exotic spices, hints of earth, lingering finish. — 5 years ago
If making a 'Condrieu' good looking Viognier was a paradigm in California 15 years ago, Ranchero has made the dream became truth..Ripe apricot and peach notes along with wild flowers notes. The use of oak and not evident at first sip. This is a great white to explore, sit down and have a holiday meal.. — 6 years ago
50/50 Merlot - Petit Verdot. — 7 years ago
Have to think of Mark Stull every time you pop a bottle of Chappellet! Unfortunately it didn't stand up to the Paradigm last night. Decent nose, plenty of fruit, but either needs some age or some more refining. I enjoyed it, but better cabs at this price point. — 8 years ago
