Dear Uruguayan sommelier in the random restaurant on Avenida Santa Fe, thank you for introducing us to this dark, voluptuous fruit of the Patagonian desert (see photo of the earth of the vineyard on the label). Self judgment aside, it can only be described as tantamount to drinking velvet. Lush, liquid, aniseedy velvet. Muchisimas gracias, Leah — 12 years ago

Pizza and wine night with the Wheat's. a combination of kid madness and adult sophistication. Of course, the adult beverages are always therapeutic! This Syrah started the evening. Beautiful aroma and forward fruit. Slight tannin finish, but overall a strong California red. Don't know the $, but worth it under $40. Cheers! — 13 years ago
