Palmer & Co

Brut Reserve Champagne Blend

Palm frond, light olive essence, smoky-sweet petrol resonance over poppyseed pastry, rhubarb-wild strawberry cream, lemon custard, and palmyra. Lemon lime zippy while racing across the tongue, with grapefruit zest, lime zest and raspberry sizzle. Gorgeous and lean. Two palms up! #palmerandco #palmerandcochampagne #champagne #bubbles #Reims #àreims #brutchampagne #brutreserve — 5 years ago

Antica (Antinori)

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2016

Really tasty Napa Chardonnay with a nice balance of creaminess and minerality. Not too oaky, not too steely, but just right, with a touch of nutmeg on top. Enjoyed the 2016 vintage with lobster bisque and a grilled 3-lb lobster at The Palm Restaurant in LA. — 7 years ago

Caymus Vineyards

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

Trivia time, not that most of you don’t already know this, but this is the vintage they didn’t make the SS and its by far IMHO the best Caymus Napa ever. Found this today at a little deli/liquor store here in Palm Springs. Surprise surprise still drinking beautifully. — 8 years ago

Hall Wines

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

It is Sunday evening and the first wine we have opened is the 2012 Hall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This was a gift from one of my life long friends that is here in Palm Springs.

The nose has notes of black fruit, black cherry, blackberry, cassis, oak and a mineral note although a bit on the weak side.

On the palate the black fruit is prominent with black cherry, blackberry, some licorice, vanilla, smoky oak and earth notes.

The wine is medium to full bodied with medium acidity, medium smooth tannins, a very drinkable wine right now.

The weekend is at an end and the workweek is upon us. Have a great week and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷

Veranda

Bío Bío Pinot Noir 2014

Roasted citrus - finally nailed the nose.

Buddha palm, blueberry, cranberry, zingy acid, very light oak. Almost non existent. The Pinot shows through unadulterated, and truly expressively.

South America is a great place to focus..

Animante Extra Brut Franciacorta White Blend

Yum!
Nose of apricot, honeysuckle.

Deliciously citrusy on the palette, Buddha palm and kumquat. Doughy at the end, with gravelly acidity.
Perfect pairing for the BBC radio one DJ’s tonight. Raving it up on Friday!

Very beautiful wine, well balanced and on the earthy grapy side (where grapes are still grapes and not melons).
Enjoying this wine with Hector for a business meeting at the palm.

Prior rating and notes hold true - super crisp, high acidity, touch of creaminess, tart grapefruit pith and citrus galore. Nice memory of sipping this with @Mike R and Rhonda at the Brazilian Court in Palm Beach pre the Wine Nerd Herd weekend festivities. — 8 years ago

Another great bottle of juice.! On a separate note, we have a crew in the Twin Cities that are interested in the Wine Nerd Herd. How does one apply or get more info on this group? This sounds right up our alley!! Michael@MathewsGlobal.com
