Once again this is vinho Verde at its very best. Pear, cantaloupe, chalk. There's that mineral thing on the nose that tells you it's going to be great 😊 the palate is very well made with a great acid backbone, a good width and mouthfeel, some pear and slightly lemony notes, before a long and fresh finish that goes on for a while. I can smell the wind, the sun, the stone buildings of Spain in this well made of straightforward Rioja. This 2006 is just coming into it’s given that it may have been fruit forward in its early life. I prefer the crianza from this same wine maker, the reserva goes down enjoyably easy. — 4 years ago
