That’s Shiraz I enjoy. Not too big but showing the variety properly. We drank it too fast though. Curious what it would have been like after 2-3 hours. Thanks @Brad Page — 8 years ago
Generally regarded as one of Australia's better Pinot Noirs on the basis of its perfumed nose and plummy medium bodied palate with lovely silky tannins. Could identify with @Ira Schwartz note recently of aromas of boot polish. I used to say varnish but I think we are on the same page. Great Pinot. — 9 years ago
Very light for a Bordeaux even with age. Paired nicely with a smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving. — 7 years ago
1961. Wine older than me. Lots of cedar box and cigar. Tannin completely resolved. Lots of tertiary aromas and flavor. Can’t believe after all these years....still going strong. At Bern’s in Tampa. Page 85 of the 180 page wine list. More like a wine book. — 7 years ago

Lots of CO2 in here, so it requires some heavy shaking and/or a long decant. As a general rule, I don't find trousseau to have quite the intrigue that poulsard does, but this one is a little stonier and less simple-fruity (and more structured) than most, with a complexion of cranberry and roses. The fruit unfurls a bit more and picks up a satiny texture once it kicks that CO2, while still having a nice acidic zing. 10% whole cluster according to the importer web page. — 9 years ago

This pale wine is subtle on its nose, with very light aromas of citrus and wet rocks. The sniff is not rendered tart by those descriptives, however. There is a softness to it that takes the edge away. The palate is another matter, as a rippingly joyous acidity makes itself known immediately. Flavors of crisp apples, lemons and a touch of orange are as vibrant as they seem here on the page, like a lovely spring day bathed in the cool wind of Galicia. The pleasure lasts long after the sip disappears. — 7 years ago
2012 Greer Cabernet Sauvignon. My outright favorite Napa cab right now. 4 hour decant, crimson color, this wine has a killer explosive nose of dark fruits, cinnamon, baking spices, menthol and flint. Maybe a hint of flowers for @DAG Chocolate covered cherries, cocoa and espresso mid palate, and a touch of nutmeg with moderate trademark Rutherford dusty tannins in just the right proportion. Dense and concentrated. Not for the old world palate, which puts it squarely in my wheelhouse. Beautifully layered with a silky mouth feel, and a lingering finish. Just a baby, but who can resist pulling the cork. I'm obsessed with Greer. For the money, this Cabernet simply cannot be beat. A case of Greer or a bottle of Screagle? Seriously? If your palate is on the same page as mine, get you some. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. You rock Rob Greer. — 8 years ago
Fruit forward with smooth finish. — 9 years ago
Yountville culty garage wine. Perfect for v-day dinner. Glycerine, cedar mountain berry laced nose with a streak of truffles. Palate of balsam, boysenberry and vanilla. Huge wine almost 16pct but silky smooth tannins. Really very unique in its style. The finish is dynamic. The wine is constantly evolving in the glass. Give this air !!! — 9 years ago

Yet again, Bryan Page has knocked it out of the park. So inky, rich, juicy with a hint of spice. Think I got lucky and caught this one at the top of its game. Spectacular — 6 years ago
