Good balance. Body but not too overboard. — 10 years ago
Big and straight forward, but never goes overboard. — 10 years ago
Subtlety of Lake County and some neutral barrel time with lees contact. Sauvignon Blanc that's not too overboard on intensity. Happy to have more than one glass! — 10 years ago
Big black fruit, licorice, cedar, and a bit of tea tell-tale Tuscan funk. It's very much a modern wine, but doesn't go overboard — 10 years ago
Beautiful flowery and potpourri nose, gorgeous cherry fruit with tar, tobacco, kirsch, very grainy, mineral laced tannic finish with cedar and sandalwood. Nice herbal character, perhaps not giving enough with mint notes. A little overboard on the acidity too - Dry even by Barolo standards after 90 minutes.
After another hour decanting, this became much more integrated, with big spicy, dusty cherries and a perfumed finish without so much tannic bite. Delicious bottle. If this is what the "new school" Barolos taste like, bring em on! — 11 years ago
Drinks amazingly well for such a young wine. Outstanding subtle flavor profile. Interesting fact- Elk Cove is the name of the Oregon town in the 80s classic "Overboard." I wish I could drink this wine at the badass putt putt course that Kurt Russell builds at the end. — 11 years ago
Hazelnut gelato nose! Lovely round palate that whe attesting to the oak elevage doesn't go overboard, cool character and sneaky acidity. Lovely aged white burgundy ready to go. Minerals locked into the supple waves which really become evident on the glass residuals. Very fair price for the aged perfection. — 11 years ago
This is the kind of Chardonnay that I love...bright acidity, just enough oak to give creaminess, and malo that doesn't go overboard. Color is golden and slightly amber. Nose has white pepper, apricot, and overripe meyer lemon. Palate is rich and hedonistically creamy with balance and a very long finish. There's just a touch of butterscotch starting to peek out. This is a lovely wine. — 11 years ago
Sweet without going overboard. Nice fruit nose. Can drink on it's own. Very happy with this wine — 13 years ago
The nose is outstanding with aromas of vanilla, carnations, pear, banana, ginger and dry stone. It's full bodied in the mouth and creamy and buttery but with a lively acidity that keeps it all from going overboard. There's flavors of almonds, lemon, pear and ginger. Then it finishes dry with oak and banana. It really is sensational all around and every Chardonnay lover should give it a try. — 10 years ago
My favourite, speaking as a wine newbie. I love this. Slightly sweet without going overboard. Perfect with pasta Alfredo and chicken. — 10 years ago
Nice nose that offers up rich fruit without going overboard like so many California Zins can. Restrained yet chocolatey and laced with cinnamon and sandalwood.
Nice powdery tannins and a delicious finish. My only specific complaint is that it's missing a little heft in the mid-palate but that's being nit-picky.
Of course it's young too so there's time for that to fill out. I believe this wine will benefit from some time in the cellar. My guess is the sweet spot window will be 2019-2024 — 10 years ago

Lighter body, crisp, mineral, smoke, good fruit but not overboard — 11 years ago
Pine scented, sweet smelling beer. Nice and hoppy without going overboard worth the alcohol content. — 11 years ago
Amazing balance between RS and acidity, very big without being completely overboard. Fun as the last wine in the Chenin lineup! — 11 years ago
Ripe and lush without going overboard — 11 years ago
Strong oak without going overboard. Letting it breathe a while brings out the flavor. — 12 years ago
This Sta Rita Hills Pinot from Paul Lato is reminiscent of deeper version of a Premier Cru Chambolle. Nice depth here without going overboard on ripeness. The medium acidity keeps it fresh and lively. Very well done. — 10 years ago
Nice, crisp acidity on the front end with a nose that is light and pleasant. It finishes with a nice balance between sweet and dry. Not overboard in either direction. Flavored like biting into a juicy, freshly picked Granny Smith apple on a warm summer day with notes of kiwi and grapefruit. Great buy for this price. — 10 years ago
Richly tannic. Not overboard with jaminess. Quite delicate balance. 90 points well earned. — 10 years ago
Still overpriced, but this scotch is still one of the richest sherry finished malts around that doesn't go overboard (as some might claim of the Aberlour Abunadh.) Thick and substantive in the mouth, it's giving with piney malt and rich red fruit from the sherry butts. Perfect neat - like all good whisky. — 11 years ago

CVed 8/15/17. Just found in Costco and curious at $15. Plummy and mature dark red fruits on nose with hints of vanilla and sweetness but quite balanced. Palate that's silky and floral without going overboard. Medium finish of red fruits. Good value and not fruit bomb I was weary of. Should get another and let it age. — 9 years ago
