No butter on the 2018 @Andrew Mecoli , and pretty easy to order online still. — 6 years ago

Armenian wine has gained more global popularity since a team of archaeologists discovered the earliest evidence of complete wine production inside an Armenian cave. You probably still won’t find them in most restaurants but you can now get high quality contemporary Armenian wine in specialty shops or online. Karasi by Zorah is pretty unique because it was aged in a Karas instead of a traditional barrel. Nose is similar to Pinot Noir from hotter climate with cherry and peppery notes. Medium bodied with delicate tannins and acidity. Very elegant yet interesting wine. — 7 years ago
100% stem inclusion and foot stomped. A brillant wine perhaps the best he made so far. Spice elements bark tart port wine hint of bitter like in a high end amarone. Stem complexity not fully resolved yet which some folks have a tough time with. Cedar box black tea tons of tannins. Keep for 10 more years! I just had his 15's with the importer they are fantastic! Serendipity- n. Bidding on and winning the wrong lot in an online auction, and the wine turns out to be fabulous (and educational).
I'm generally not a Rosé guy, but this is an exception. Complex and defies the general rules of the category. From the weekend. — 9 years ago
Good. $16 from bottle barn online Russian River valley — 6 years ago
Another quaffer. Pure, fresh, textural. Apparently a skinsy, but ever so lightly so. Apple, pears, candied ginger, ripping acidity, saline. So delicious and so refreshing in the tropical weather.
First time trying this producer and wine. From old vine Macebau, might contain a touch Syrah and/or Muscat - the information varies online. Biodynamics, minimal intervention. — 7 years ago

Prune nose. Nice dark color. A micro producer. They have trouble now to get grapes as money flows into Burgundy they loose out. Beautiful wine 🍷 could use another 3 years or so. Cherry 🍒 cranberry touch of lemon 🍋 zest and chalk / really well done / this is ‘handmade’. Blows Bize and Pavelot the apparent benchmarks for Savigny out of the water. Amitié wines online has these or Meritage in Encinitas and a bunch of Michelin Star restaurants in SF. You can’t go wrong if you like his traditional style. — 8 years ago

Excelle full bodied, yet smooth finish wine. Not too heavy on the berry and with the right amount of oak. Much more expensive in the French restaurant, so I highly recommend an online purchase. This is one that paired well with the foie gras, cheese board, chicken dish AND filet mignon. — 9 years ago
Drank with online AldenAlli vertical tasting. The 2014 was big and brash, lots of raspberry with a medium/long finish. — 6 years ago

This wine is a nice blend of black fruit, oak, and floral tastes and aromas. Simply marvelous with mushroom dishes. My friends loved this wine as well. — 6 years ago
Loved this wine. Lots of cherry, currant, clean finish. Amazed to find online for $25; buying case. — 7 years ago
The $50 mystery case train rolls on. Best Hundy we ever spent on wine. I paid <$5 for this wine and can’t find it online for less than $52. Committed to not looking these wines up before popping the cork. Merlot dominant, whole cluster in Demi’s that are turned every 4 hours for 6 months in lieu of punch downs or pump overs. Good stuff. — 8 years ago
Found this at Blue Ribbon Wine Bar on Downing. Finally found it online and just had a case delivered. Funkiest orange wine I’ve tried. Beer on the nose. — 8 years ago

We had the 2000 with the Allen Brothers Ribcap’s. Might have been the most tender cut of meat we had. Even more tender than their Bone-in Fillets. Allen Brothers is currently selling to consumers during Covid-19 as most restaurants are shut or barely open. Order online before the go back to restaurant only sales. You’ll be glad you did. You can see on their site what revered steakhouses they sell their beef etc. Cooked them in the Green Egg. 👌
Perhaps the first 2000 that I’ve opened that was truly ready. Yet, it will improve for another 5-7 years and hold for another 5-10 years properly stored.
The tannins were round and supple...like velvet. Good balance fruit & earth. The structure, tension, length and balance just hit a good stride. Dark, rich, but, muted fruits, dark chocolate, mocha powder, touch of caramel, nicely layer baking spices, dark rich earth, clay, stone, fresh, soft tobacco notes, saddle-wood, soft graphite notes with fresh & withering dark flowers. The acidity nice & round...definitely shows the strength of the vintage. The finish, well balanced-knitted, plush, velvety, flat out elegant & smooth.
