Blend of 57% Syrah, 24% Petite Sirah & 19% Grenache, deep Ruby with aromas of berry fruits, vanilla and smoky spice. On the palate flavors of ripe black cherry and blackberry with vanilla, cacao ondine licorice. Long finish, fine soft tannins, ending with fruit, oak, spice and vanilla. The inestimable Ms. Chattan has done it again, delivering one of the nicest Gewurtztraminer wines around. Pear and honeysuckle flavors are kept balanced and dry, with only enough residual sugar to stand up to spicy food. This is not a hot tub party wine by any stretch of the imagination, but a serious white meant for creative food pairings! Bravo! — 4 months ago

This “Spinal Tap” wine takes it to 11! It is not the Cannonball which you see in the supermarket, but a more serious vintage with an actual cork. When the inestimable Ondine Chattan joined the Naked Wine collective, she brought an allotment of this wine with her.

This is an impressive cheaper cocktail wine, with bright berry and mocha flavors over a medium bodied tannic structure. At the offered price point, less than $20, it is a very good “sweet spot” wine.
