Oliba Green Beer

Argyros

Santorini Assyrtiko 2016

My first Greek wine. I love my ouzo still. Don't like mythos beer. Loving Greece and Greek and their anarchist ways. And tarmasalata and skordalia πŸ˜‹

Light and pale green(ish) πŸ‘οΈ

Whole citrusy (fruit, pith and Peel) with some noted maturity of πŸ§€ ,olive brine And seasalt. And Some freshly chopped green herbs close by πŸ‘ƒ
It screams: I'm complex!

High acidity attack.

Then this assorted citrus variety with the herbs on the side. Many layers of taste come with sweetness and bitterness hints coming and going πŸ‘„

Long and pleasent 🎯

This is next level shit.

Paired well with my baby's simple quinoa with added tahini and shug (Yemen chilly sauce).
Plain oysters or grilled fish/seafood would be more appropriate.

Not on the cheap side (119 nis) for my usual white allowance but this is from better territory so good vfm.

More like this please....

Hop Stoopid Ale

Buttery, candied grapefruit and pineapple, lemon marshmallow, aloe, beeswax candle, juniper berry and pine parchment aromatically. Fluff biscuit head that pontificated amidst perimeter chatter leaving scrawl and stalactites. Creamy with burnt points like baked Alaska. Yammy and browned with sugar before pulling apart to cola, egg cream and bitter chocolate with electric malt shadows. Gum Arabic and pine sap are just the catalysts to this green pinecone and sweet grass turned bitter almond, and oregano oil medicine rinse. Kicks out all the head fog that ails you, and replaces it with resin and tar. Sinus meds. #Lagunitas #hopstoopid #ale #ibu #ibuubme #102ibu4u #LagunitasBrewing #abv #beer #bitter #headmeds β€” 7 years ago

Brasserie de Blaugies

Darbyste Ale brewed with Fig Juice

Big, just-off-white crown lingers over dark, orange-amber, but once it resides is nearly laceless with isolated organic, punctuating archipelagos. Initial, buttery nutritional yeast, crystalline mangrove honey, magnolias, marigold, candied lemon peel and sweet rosemary, but don't let the fig addition and the sweet aromatics fool you; sour and underripe complexity ensues. Medium-heavy, unfiltered mouthfeel feels petulant, but swallows almost flat due to the dichotomy of dryness. Dried and underripe apricot combo, pineapple essence, gooseberry, chalk, snail shell, gravel dust, dried violets, fishbone, key lime, tangerine zest, and leek. A bright, green, mineral-driven offering. #farmcharm #saison #Darbyste #biere #bier #beer #brasseriedeblaugies #artisinale #nonfiltre #wit #blanche #bierdarbyste #belgian #belgianbeer #familyowned β€” 8 years ago

So funky on the nose with notes of green strawberries, grass, and very sexy. Thank you David πŸ’ƒπŸΎ we decanted this baby and fell drunk in love. I can't imagine how this beer will be in 25-30 years. Only 500 bottles came to the US, we have 5 of them!!! Meowmeowmeow! β€” 9 years ago

Those beer lovers out there seem to love this beer. I’m a beer wimp and like pale and light in flavor and color beers (not light beer in calories). Corona is my thing! This is strong, green, eucalyptus flavored. β€” 7 years ago

I know. I know....but maybe it’s because it brings me back to my southern ca 80’s college days. Corona was so in then. Oops....but I also loved Andre $3 Champagne. Oh how things have changed (on the wine front at least).

Smells like sweaty prosciutto and soppressata with warm orange pith and tangelo zest, tastes like super ripe grapefruits and green herbs with hints of malty beer. Refreshing to the lips but like fuzzy sweaters for your gut. Very fall. β€” 9 years ago

Stoller Family Estate

Reserve Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2011

Well balance between fruit, wood and acidity. At 12.5 % alcohol. Aromas of ripe cherry, red currants, tobacco, licorice with earthy and smoky notes. On the palate, dark fruit, root beer, cranberry, fresh mushrooms and a touch of mineral and smoked meat. Had it with roasted pork with Romaine salad and pan seared salmon with a side green salad and pesto dressing. β€” 10 years ago

Gaia (Gaia's Estate)

Wild Ferment Santorini Assyrtiko 2016

Sharp, sorry, green, and altogether unexpected. Way less β€œwild” than I thought! Reminds me of a cider or wild yeast beer in the subtlety of flavor. Minerality is good, but smooth, from the volcanic soil (not gravelly), and there’s an unexpected pop of acidity. Medium alcohol. All green apple and sunshine. Amazing. β€” 7 years ago

Double Stout Black Ale

Produced a full head of cappuccino brown, that left a plethora of primitive dinosaur hieroglyphs. Completely opaque and dark as strong coffee. Turkish coffee impression similarly informs the aromas, with a raspberry-dark chocolate streak, a tiny dust of licorice, and some burnt caramel. Mouthfeel is stout perfection, bordering on whole milk with chocolate syrup. Espresso, gingerbread, burnt wheat, bitter, baker’s chocolate, allspice, dried cassis, wormwood, and burnt lavender. #doublestout #stout #beer #beerbeerbeer #greenflash #abv #stoutout #beeroclock #beerculture #beerdrinkers #stoutitallout #? β€” 8 years ago

Mosaic Promise Malt

Want to try this on tap; bottled is delicious. First whiff after pour has a green, bracing freshness (pine?) that burns off as it sits for a few minutes, so savor that first sip! Citrus and apricots, great mouthwatering acidity. You'll keep sipping. For Founders, a clean and more minimalist beer. Nice change-up from them! β€” 9 years ago
