Grown two miles down the road and 12.9% abv. Very curious. Has a little bit of the drinkability of a Beaujolais, but the dark tannin structure of Napa cabernet. Spicy black pepper, but at this point, no roasted meat character. A little thin but solid tannin, fruit, and acidity. Will love to retry in a few years. — 10 years ago
2002 vintage Rose. Light salmon, copper hue. Chalk, wet rock to the fore. Red currant and cranberry. Slight blossom notes. Iron fragments. On the palate, very lean and balanced as is the Crystal style. Not the concentration of the white 2002. If there's any tannins here, you have to focus to notice them. Maybe at the back end there's a touch of weight from the tannins. Very young - too young. Don't touch for 7-10 years. Makings of a great wine as acidity is so balanced with the fruit. Love it. NB: Pinot cold macerated for 4 days - to extract colour but little tannins. Then blended with Chardonnay and co-fermented. Quite unique. No added red wine per se. — 11 years ago
Love this stuff, but turn on the snooze factor, because this one will put ya to sleep! I think I'm taking a liking to bourbon barrel aged milk stouts, aside from their alcohol contents, their bountiful complex flavors, and who doesn't love mocha/coffee aromas? I'll tell you who, no one, and if they don't, politely dispose of them because you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Not as much chocolate to the mid section and finish of this one but none the less, a barrel essence that I thoroughly enjoy. — 10 years ago
There are no words to describe this amazing experience. Beautiful fruit, excellent oak and a very long silk aftertaste. Just stunning craftmanship. Like finding a long lost love... — 10 years ago
Had this amazing light, no leftover taste at wine and co in Bethesda love it — 12 years ago
I think Galioni was extravagant with lavishing 95 pts on this, but directionally, he's spot on.
On the nose, it has all the characteristics that I love; maple syrup, coffee and a hint of tobacco. On the palette, the wine is lithe and textured and sweet.
Very surprised with this. CdV made great wines in the mid nineties, then they hit a brick wall. Their wines were tannic and angular - I wonder what has happened, because this is well outside of their profile, in a good way.
No need for food with this. I was almost chewing it! It drinks like a $50 cab in my mind. — 10 years ago

Pale pink color with pretty strawberry, cherry, bright citrus, and a whiff of crushed floral aromas. On the palate shows a soft mousse. It's light-bodied, dry, fresh, elegant and well structured with wild strawberry, cherry, and red currant flavors and a long tangy mineral laced finish. The wine is unique in that it is a co-maceration of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir (from 2010 vintage) No ML Dosed at 3g/L Would love this with some sashimi! — 11 years ago

Absolutely love the tropical flavors. Well balanced, no doubt that this is mosaic hops. — 10 years ago
